So I Finally got hold of a Mk3 Cupra

Once i had another years no claims under my belt. It Was time I Began hunting for a Mk3 Cupra. Ive Always wanted a Mk3 Cupra since the days of me owning a Mk3 1.4L Chill ,Which i made into a Cupra Replica.

However I didn't just want any Mk3 i wanted one that was rust free as well as been well maintained by some one who knew what they were doing. My price range was between £2750-£3500 this was depending on the quality of the car.

With a saved search made on eBay a few weeks later i had purchased my ideal Cupra. With the car being 2 hours 20 minutes away from me i couldn't free up the time to go see the car in person. I took the sellers word on the car and tried my luck in the auction. RISKY i Know

Luckily i won the Auction with 2 seconds to go my bid was confirmed

When i Went to collect the car the buyer didn't let me down it was just how he made out if not better.

So its MOT time again

Luckily the only thing wrong was that the high level brake light was out !


So with a new one ordered and fitted the car went for a re test and passed with flying colours , no advisories

whilst it was on the MOT ramp i decided to change the oil and filter as the last time it was done was 6 months ago

Thanks to Dave at SERE Motors for the parts as usual

also the new suspension set up has been ordered just have to wait around a month for it now

Back to work on the car as the new suspension set up has been ordered

So I've stripped the car down fully ready for the delivery to arrive

Waiting is the hardest part !!

More updates from today's work , decided whilst I am waiting to remove my wheel arch liners and under seal all my arches

Should protect it for a few more years

Quick Update on todays on todays progress

- finished under sealing all of the car (all underneath done to )

Decided to spray my headliner black along with sun visors and clips ( personally i think it looks miles better however might not be to every ones taste)



Also the air management system and the rear struts arrived still waiting for the fronts however

Not much to update today I have been busy but another delivery arrived

FK wheels spacers 15mm for the rear

Winter wheels also turned up

Xxr 527s wrapped in in bridgestones all round 205/40 R17

4x100 17 8.25J ET20

What a pukka little motor love the colour, can I ask what paint you used for the liner and visors? Weird I don't like the mk3 ibizas but absolutely love the cupra's nice car mate.

Today's updates are as followed

- rear struts are in place , after a night mare job of cutting down the top mounts (Bushes)

- air lines and switches are wired in under the roof liner with the paddle switch replacing the interior light

- front struts have finally arrived

So finally after a delay in one front top mount being made , it arrived finally on Friday

So after 8 weeks the air ride was finally ready on Thursday

I understand air ride isn't evey one's choice , that's fine with me. I just decided to try it for once I've had coilovers , lowering springs and struts so decided to try something different and see how it goes. I might end back going to coilovers I might not
