Morning all,
I've been searching online for a decat-downpipe and I have found the toyosports one, which looks great for the money :) the question I have is.....would a 3" decat-downpipe fit straight onto my exciting standard exhaust system or would I need to buy the toyosports cat-back exhaust system for it to work?
Regards, Mike

It will fit straightaway, it has stepdown on the 2nd part of the downpipe. I fitted Cobra catback first then the Toyosports DP, also fitted ok.

Thanks for the reply :) so out of curiosity, how big is the standard system?

Also, will it throw up any fault codes or will the EML make an appareance?

Yes it will throw an error (CEL), you need a 90 degree lambda spacer (search for O2 spacer on eBay). I dont know how big the normal catback is.

If you want to know for 1000%, email Toyosports about it!

That looks sweet :) I'm definitely look into the O2 spacer! Would I need the full system or just the decat downpipe for stage 2 remap?

Also, I've spoken to Toyosports and they say that the catback exhaust (below) is a copy of the standard system.....so there wouldn't be any point in changing as the standard exhaust on mine is in good condition?

The toyosports downpipe has a stepped section from 3", down to 2.75", 2.5" then 2.25". The standard catback is roughly 2.25" all the way through but has slight variations due to bends etc.

If it's something you can be bothered doing, it's worth getting the middle pipe from the 1.9tdi and ripping out the standard middle box. Seems to help spool and adds some grunt. Need to tweak mine again as it's currently blowing and looks pi$$ed, probably just a loose clamp but haven't had chance to check

Thanks for the info :) so would it not be worth buying the Toyosports catback exhaust as its the same as the one I have? And would a decat downpipe be ok for stage 2 remap?

I'll look into the middle pipe from the tdi :D

Its recommended to go full stainless 2.5/2.75", open up that bad boy :) I went the full monty, waste of money to do it twice (remap stage 2, change things after, another remap is needed...). Do it once, do it good.

In the end it's your well earned money, do what you want with it.

If its best to go the full 2.5" route then that's what shall be done :)
