let me correct that for you 1 person is having problems (DGF264), 3 people fitted it no problems (sambryant, Dan FR, joshkcupra)

even if DGF264 has to buy the coupler from creation motorsport hes saved a significant amount over the so called better named brand.

jealously is a horrible thing. :p

Havn't fitted mine yet, unfortunately I wont have chance until Saturday. Think i will try and find time to try out the coupler though to see if it will fit. I'm sure it can be made to fit anyway :)

You really need to measure your metal pipe up. Or measure up the china fitting thats too big, see if its stepped due to poor machining as mine are and work out what size you need

From the measurements i took of the china coupler, it will be type C that you need, but please check. These are the measurements i took, sent to a mate the other day:

Internal diameter is 60mm, external diameter at the bayonet fitting is tapered (cheap shoot machining) but goes up to 70mm. Looks like it should be 68.3mm as per the link i sent below The external diameter at the pipe connection is 63.5mm so needs a 62/63mm silicone pipe

60mm at the narrow end, which explains why its tight on the coupler. One of my couplers has a 62.5mm OD and the other has a 63.5mm OD for the pipe.

The intercooler end is 71mm and fits the IC snugly

Some pics i took late last night, the one with the seal is a decent quality part from SFS which i removed from my old MK4 golf PD130 when upgrading the Intercooler. Note the difference in the size and shape of the lugs for the bayonet type fitting. Some of the pictures are bad as it was late and I was tired, hopefully you can make out the varying diameters and poor/inconsistent machining.

Cheers Dan! That was my issue with the size of the lug on the china one..sooo much bigger and wider than the standard one! Hoping if I order from Creation, it doesn't turn out to be exactly the same as the china one lol!

Unfotunately the one from the Golf is smaller , both the bayonet and pipe diameter - already checked. Some measurements:
Internal diameter is 55mm, external diameter at the bayonet fitting is 64.5mm, external diameter at pipe end is 62.5mm, so needs a 61/62mm pipe

So the Golf part would be a type D and of no use.

I've just ordered a Type C Creation one to try, if it's no good i'll return it. Looked through their feedback and none of the bad feedback related to this product and they've sold a fair few

Have u ordered type C as u said? I did the same the feedback..and they have a money back if you aren't satisfied guarentee! Does it need an O ring fitting like the standard one?

Just edited my post as i've just ordered one to try - Type C. Yes you will need to re-use the seal as you would with the China one

Just edited further to hopefully make clearer, but yes i believe the TFSI to require a type C and my old Golf PD130 is the equivalent of type D.

Confused.com ;)

Also sent a message to the china seller expressing my displeasure at the poor quality of the coupler, having already messaged them before purchasing to confirm the coupler was well made and would fit without issue. Should be interesting.
