Front Mount Intercooler

Evening all,

Just a quick query, I'm after getting a front mount intercooler for the Cupra, and have seen the airtec FMIC's, and wondered if anybody had any experience with them/rating?

I think it is like the twintercooler, plus I like the look of having the front mount visible through the bumper, gives it a meaner look!

Yeah I'd always rate the S3 one just because of how well it fits but if you want to see it I can understand it's not for you

Why does it not work as well?

Annoyingly dark side developments prices on the website are all excluding VAT!

It's still a HUGE amount cheaper than a equivalent air-tec one.

The air tech stage 2 is 595 including all hoses, the Darkside Developments is £480 with hoses.

I emailed Darkside to ask if they have any deals, and if it came with a fitting guide. The answer was no to both lol

the twintercooler becomes restrictive on the bigger ko4 turbo. its fine for the ko3 but thats it.

I'll be getting a S3 cooler and ripping the a/c out this month

Someone I no with a Edition 30 gti is about to order one if these-
161319302631 (eBay item number).... Basically a china cooler for Tfsi's for a bargain sum of £180

I really wouldn't trust something from China, which has no R&D or spec data..

I think gonna end up going with the Darkside dev S3 kit..

To me a coolers a cooler..... As long as the dimensions are the same as say a Airtec cooler then I'd use one

Sam Bryant's using a china cooler, he made good power on R-techs rollers recently

My mates also running a china cooler on a 450 garret set us Z20, works great as well.

I'm swaying more towards a S3 cooler but may just try a china cooler for £180

I'd just be cautious of the quality of the materials used and also the integrity of the welds, and also the piping/fittings etc

Fair point right there haha. That said, the slightest bit of heat and I'm sticking to the leather... Even if that is only two weeks out of the year!
