Hi, I have been lurking on this forum and writing the occasional thing if I have a question or think I can contribute something since I got my 2010 Diesel FR in April this year. I too have seen the adverts for the "magic boxes" and ws initially intrigued before remembering the adage that "If it seems too good to be true, then it is"
You have asked for opinions on the internet, given what the internet can often be like, I think the replies have been very informative and useful. The best advice is that which we don't want to hear as we already know what we do want to hear so in that case we learn nothing new.

.....only because a remap is the better route in the main and to gain max performance as safely as possible, but you've made a decision that sacrifices some of that for convenience etc which I think is a fair decision given the need (just don't do it to save telling your insurance - if you are in an accident and unable to remove it, and the other people involved are badly injured, how are you going to cover the claims against you for their injuries when it is spotted and your insurance made void ?)

I don't think anyone on here really remaps for fuel economy to need a 55mph test being done. Drive it normally, tell us what it goes/feels like etc compared to your "normal" experience, and mention any fuel difference. However which way you test it, report back though as I am sure there of plenty of people on here wanting to see how it works out, even if they are afraid of being flamed for saying they are buying one!!!!!

Lol I will do all the tests I can, I'll also try and film it well me trying the 0-60 and also take some pics of the fuel consumption and maybe some more of other stuff that I can't think of atm lol

That's true, we are all here to share our opinion so that when someone else looking for the same answer to a problem the can read it and make a decision based on the information the have acquired. This is my I will be reporting back with my findings of the TDI Tuning box, thereby giving people the choice to choose between tuning box or remap.

No I meant what research have you done on the company In general?

I have been looking for any review on them online so far no bad review at all, just good reviews but that does not mean that the are all good, also called then and spoke to then the answered all my question without any bias just explained it all to me patiaently even though I told him am not buying am just enquiring. Some companies would just not bother explaining it to you if your not buying. So if you like you can also check then out and see if you can find any bad reviews or insident from them if you do please keep my posted

And the reviews on the website are genuine ones? How do you know they haven't got there mates to put them up.

The only tunjng box I would get is from DTUK. Andrew who runs the company is a member on here. Go and inbox him.

I think DTUK was the one being considered by the OP - and I would agree that it is probably one of the very few worth consideration.
