Just to bring this back to light.. Here is my to do list in trying to lighten up the Leon,

Remove front r32 brake for porsche, then replace all discs with 2 piece discs.

Hollow anti roll bar kit (front and rear)

Alloy lower arm kit

Audi TT alloy front hubs
Audi TT rear subframe with alloys hubs (both TT items increase track width)

Ats race light alloys

Contemplating selling my cupra interior for some lightweight buckets, but I love them dearly!

Anyone else have any ideas please?

Well, only money can set a stop to the weight reduction mania.

The TT front hubs will not weight less then the Cupra as both are made in aluminum casting. But the TT hubs will give you better track conditions.

It's easy to make the rear of the car light as you remove parts but the front is the hard part. Moving the battery and changing to a lighter is a good thing. Putting in some race bucket seats is also a good thing.

Next step is to get Carbon fiber fenders, front bumper and bonnet. But then we are talking about custom made parts as the aftermarket is weak on the Leon. Yes, there is carbon fiber bonnets but not real as they are partly build in fiberglass.

The rear hatch in carbon fiber would shave of some good weight if done in one piece including the window. Carbon fiber doors, feels unsafe as they are part of the collision protection. Carbon fiber interior parts, door panels would be. Plastic windows and so on...

Lol... There's a time and place for some of you lot... Not here lol just surprised captain Betty wasn't first. & I'll pass on a lotus thanks.

Anyway... POPOV, thanks for your comments but I'm being realistic & I don't own a cupra/ alloy from hubs lol. Niether do I have a few K for custom carbon. I think reduction & relocation is the key!

Don't want a full on race car, just fast road ☺️

Anyway once you done all the obvious and cheap weight loosing things to a leon and removed any fay girlfriends or mums ;)
you then get to a point of dimishing returns, where your spending more and more money for ever smaller weight losses
just ask any formula one team

Personally if it was me and the weight loss is mainly to improve track day times
Then I'd do the cheap weight loss bits then spend a couple of hundred pounds at a track with a really good instructor
even if your a good driver, even half a day with an instructor will get your lap times down far more than any weight loss to the car ever will and you can take it with you to any car, you can't do that with a pair of carbon wings and a bonnet :D

The wings, bonnet are the same on the pre-fl and fl.

The facelift has different headlights, grill, bumper etc

but the tops of the lights and grill are same as the pre-fl
