I'm thinking of changing my FR's standard 17" Dynamic 5 spoke alloys to the 18" Performance alloys.

Just spoke to my local dealer who has quoted £400 per rim for the Performance alloys, so roughly its going to cost £2k ! to change (inc. tyres)....while if you order them when buying from new cost £350ish total !

He offered me some Seat 18" Anthracite & Black alloys which are about £150-£175ish each, but are not really the style I'm after.

Looking at some aftermarket wheels now that are 7.5x18" ET51, but not sure if these will affect the warranty ?....these would only be used as summer wheels.

Any advice ?

Any decent alloy wheel sites online......Wheelbase Alloys etc ?

I was recently in contact with Seat Customer Services on another matter concerning Wheels and tyres and received the following email.

"Thank you for your recent contact with SEAT UK Customer Services regarding wheel and tyre specifications for your Leon FR 2.0
TDI.

Our Parts Team have advised the following:

Alloy wheels 7.5 x 18 ET51
Tyres 225-40 R18 92Y "

If your aftermarket wheels meet this spec I cannot see any problem with warranty.

just use ebay. you will find lots of "as new" wheels with just a couple of miles on them with very good prices ;)

status subject to change
the £350 difference from new will be that they 18" price will be reduced by the fact the 17" are not required.
after new as you are trying means you will pay for both in effect.

Personally if you want to change id go after market, it wont effect warranty. - well until they try to argue the aftermarket alloys are too heavy... un reality it shouldn't be an issue.

If you can wait until after the Easter Hols (I'm on holiday at the moment) then I will have a brand new set of 18" Performance Alloy Wheels for sale ( tyres not included) £125 each. Just PM me if you are interested.

That price doesn't seem right. I priced them here (Ireland) where things like this are traditionally overpriced and I was quoted €200 each as I'm not a fan of my polished 18s.
