Got rid of my K1 and picked up and Evo IX FQ-320. I had an Evo IV previously and a Subaru blob eye STi but wanted another Evo again, so picked this up last week

The Evo IV i previously had

Unfortunately how it finished it's life

The car has the usual FQ-320 spec - HKS Hardpipe kit, HKS Superdrager Exhaust (de-cated)
Remap by Indigo GT currently running 401bhp
Walbro fuel pump
Tein lowering springs
Zito Astro alloys
Whiteline rear ARB
Whiteline drop links all round
Whiteline Roll Centre kit
Polybushed rear end
Polybushed top engine mount
Exeedy HD twin plate clutch
HEL Brake lines all round
HEL clutch line
AMS Solid shifter cable bushes
Nevernever man solid gear base bushes
Red coolant hoses
Stick on front number plate
Tints
Smoked side repeaters
Clarion VX402E stereo
Prosport dual colour boost gauge
R-Spec pillar pod
LED interior and exterior bulbs

Also the car benefits from having a set of rare seats

Here's how i picked it up

Ordered a couple of bits

Then got the tints sorted and gave the car a wash and took some pics

Next up a new rear licence plate and hopefully some form of induction. Future plans are some carbon goodies - front splitter, side extensions, etc...

I test drove a standard FQ-360 before buying this and that felt good but this is just totally different so smooth and deceptively quick

Car looks nice. I'm a long time evo owner myself.

Cheers mate, feels good to be back in one :D

very nice m8
did you get this from a MLR member, the car looks familiar?
i so miss my e8 :(

It is a long time MLR car but i got it from a garge i traded my K1 in, the previous owner had sold it to the garage. Its got a lot of positive forum history which is what i like

Very nice indeed [B)]

Cheers mate :D

very nice.
best of luck with it and look after it.

Thanks. I intend too, I look after all my cars but this one will be getting some extra special treatment

Nice car fella, always lusted after an Evo, the running costs are scary though.

There not too bad I don't think. This is definitely more economical than my IV and my Subaru. Only a couple of mpg down from the K1. Labour bills can be high on stuff which is just the nature of Jap performance sometimes. The 4.5k service intervals are the only downside....worth it though :D

Detango'd the front headlights, didn't spray them black as i'm a fan of the dark chrome centre and light colour against the bumper and wing, i also wanted a different look to my Subaru and i sprayed those black.
Also had Barry from Safe & Sound fit me a new Toad alarm as i was sick of the Cobra one on the car, wasn't a fan. Once again top work and great service from Barry.
Lastly got a carbon domed rear number plate

Bulbs ready for the detango'ing

Number plate

Few pics that night after the cinema since the multistory was pretty empty

Looks lush dude! The standard recaros that come in these, same seat but trimmed differently, should have a set going in my cupra r at some point this year! Doesn't make it an Eco but I can pretend until I can afford one!

tbh there not as bad as everyone makes out,i drove mine casually with a few blasts now and again and seen 300 miles from a tank, servicing wise if you like to look after your car this is not a problem,a good base car thats had alot of tlc will do you for many years

Great seats mate, really snug, you literally don't move!

some carbon skirts all round would really suit this m8

Carbon splitter, side extensions and rear spats are on my shopping list :D

That's what has always put me off getting one

I'd have one over my cupra anyday, but I don't know alot about them and would hate the 5k service intervals lol

They are fairly easy to maintain every other service is just oil so one of the services is hardly anything, a good clean base and it's a solid car, i would stay away from one that had minimal history personally

Exactly mate the reputation comes from ones that are abused with no TLC. I would only buy one with good history as it normally will see you right. Fuel wise my missus uses this daily and i use at weekends and it gets driven hard then, i get 21mpg overall, my K1 at Stage 2+ gave me 23mpg so i don't really notice any difference in fuel costs. They aren't that bad to run i used to get 17mpg from my Scoob lol

17mpg from a scooby?? I knew it'd be worse than a stage 2 cupra, but not that bad lol.

Yeah 17mpg the noise is too nice to not put your foot down constantly and you need to drive hard to go anywhere as the power doesn't kick in until like 4k rpm, was only running about 340-350bhp too just drank fuel, my Evo 4 used to give me about 14mpg, so this is economical in comparison lol

At home
Don't blame you at all bud, one of my biggest pet hates is people who don't care for others property, and the car park is where this gets noticed the most unfortunately.

I'll go to the far ends of the car park if needs be, still come out to find a car parked next to me though lol.
