Had to modify the heat shield a bit, will fit better then that once I've got some more alloy brackets.

I have a 80mm air feed to fit to when I do FMIC.

Did you find the car pulls better with the turbo back fitted and do you find the decat a little on the smelly side.

Hi mate, it does pull harder with the exhaust especially low down but I have not noticed any smell at all. The TIP surprised me the most I didn't really expect it to make a difference until it was mapped again.

I've not driven it with the new filter but I'm not expecting to feel a noticeable difference but we shall see!

Today I trimmed the TIP back and spaced the filter away from the MAF so there is less turbulence. Modified the heat shield to.

Sold a few old parts this week so I've ordered my big front mount Intercooler. The plan is to keep all the pipework 2.5" from the turbo straight to the throttle body, this means trying to make my own top boost hoses and either fabricating a new charge pipe or buying the 'Track Slag' one. It won't be done very soon as I need to save for some of the parts .... Hopefully be quite smart tho

I'm also in the process of wrapping the front engine trim in real carbon to match the Forge engine cover. I'm trying to do the strut tops to as everyone else seems to go with the alloy ones and I want to be different.

I've finished modifying my heat shield to so it all lines up nicely with the intake pipe and the engine bay. No more cable ties holding it in place

Fitted a chrome oil cap to, just tidies it up a bit.






I'm using the same spec Intercooler as my old Cupra. I believe it's very popular now and known as a 'wellycooler'


These are not finished there just in gel coat drying before there flatted and polished/lacquered

Lacquered the front trim. I rushed it a bit, should have given it another layer of gel coat but I'm impatient and I doubt most people would notice any imperfections

Looks good to me. I polished mine with the compound when I did mine to avoid heat bubbles in the lacquer, which happened on the first attempt but I think that I must have applied the coats too thick. Nice touch with the strut caps BTW

Cheers guys. I'm not to sure what to do with the main carbon engine cover as the lacquer has gone a bit yellow over time. I might try and flat and polish it or flat and re lacquer it ... Or I was thinking I could maybe colour code it and just leave bit of the carbon showing, Like a 'R' logo or a 'Seat Sport' logo or something showing through in carbon with the rest of the cover grey?
I could then do the battery cover grey and the inner battery cover/fuse cover carbon to match?

Opinions?

It goes yellow cos they used normal resin on it, there is a different resin for hi temp parts, mine has done the same, it's more noticeable at the back near the Turbo.

I like the sound of the colour coding.

Yeah I might try flat and polish it first then if it doesn't work I will colour code it.

Fitted new dipstick handle




Removed bonnet sound deadening and cleaned it up.



Changed the plugs.



Wrapped the grille surround in carbon



Car won't be used for next few weeks as got a few things to sort out on it, one of those things is the rear brakes that I'm looking to upgrade with something a bit bigger, mainly just for looks as they look a bit lost behind the wheels I'm hoping to fit.

What rear brakes are you looking to get? The bays looking good. Maybe use some polishing compound that you get with the CF kits? It might bring it back up to a clear glossy finish, but I do like the idea of colour coding - you don't see it too often.

Well the rears don't really do a lot so I'm thinking of just finding a larger 5x100 disc the correct thickness and just spacing the caliper out.

I did speak to some guys at edition 38 a couple of years ago, they sold a kit that used the 312mm front Cupra discs with the standard rear calipers, all they did was machine the disc down where the pad made contact so it had a step in it ... Does that make sense? I can't seem to find any more info about it tho, think it might have been GB Automotive or something like that.

Failing that I quite like the look of the ECS 306mm kit that uses the standard caliper, read a few people moaning about having to grind a couple mm off the hub but I think that's only 4wd cars.

I then need something for the front, got a few ideas but got to sort the rears out first as they need replacing now.

Cheers mate, I didn't realise they did a complete kit. Looks perfect. A bit of overkill but looks great I'll probably end up with this or something very similar.
