REVO Stage 2 Remap Thoughts?

Yo,

Thinking about getting a stage 2/stage 2+ map done on my AMK LCR. The car currently has a custom code stage 1 remap, Badger5 TIP, Forge Re-circ valve, full 3" exhaust and have also purchased a large front mount intercooler which will be fitted prior too fitting.

What's people's thoughts on REVO remops? Are there good gains with stage 2? Are there any issues after remapping? I'm trying to make the 290/300bhp mark hopefully! :funk:

Cheers.

Sean, how do you find your Custom Code stage 1 remap? I've got the same map but not overly impressed. Do you know your peak MAF readings? I get 188g/s max, which seems to be a bit low. Wondering if a B5 TIP will help (forge TIP currently fitted).

Cheers (and sorry to hijack your thread)!!

Yeah its very good, strong pull throughout all the gears but I'm currently looking for more power. The map was put on the car before I bought it.

To be honest I don't have a notion what MAF readings I get as I don't even know how to check  so sorry on that one buddy.

I'd highly recommend getting a B5 TIP though, they are a must buy! Can be a nightmare to fit and stay on though

cheers for the reply mate. Did you go straight from a standard TIP to the B5? Or did you replace a forge/sfs etc? Did you find the car pulled noticeably stronger on the CC map after fitting the B5?

Also, do you know what peak boost you get? Almost all the time I get to circa 18psi, but every so often I get 21.5 and it pulls like a train. Would love it if it pulled like that every time.....

Unfortunately both the B5 TIP and the custom code remap were on the car before I bought so I can't actually say.

Mine would actually be quite similar, pulls really hard through 1st-3rd gear @ around 1.4/1.5bar(20.5/21psi) on full boost then would drop to about 1.2bar(18psi) 4th-6th.

Sounds great! What sort of mods are you currently running on yours? You gonna put it on a RR?

Open cone, B5 TIP, Milltek full system decat non res, all vacuum hoses replaced (these were all hanging after 11 years and this made a massive difference), 007 yellow spring. Airtec front mount turning up this week. Handling and chassis wise, VT rock solid track engine mounts, dogbone upgraded, fully poly bushed front and rear end, KW front and rear anti roll bars.

I love it, it's an absolute weapon! Will go on an RR when the front mount is on and it's had a full service. It's currently peaking at 1.7bar on the liquid gauge.

I went from a forge TIP to a badger5 TIP when I was told the forge was the reason my power curve was stopping dead at 255bhp, and it instantly freed up a good bit of power. My forge tip is on eBay right now....

So you got a stage 2 done on standard intercoolers? Was told you'd really need one to keep temperatures down, a must for stage 2 really.

Have to get myself a liquid gauge, they must come in so handy! Quite expensive though?

I have one in my car and it's ace. boost pressure, maf readings, oil temperature - all useful stuff. Plus a fault code reader too! I wouldn't be without mine.

Does your car peak to 1.4/1.5 bar consistently in 1st-3rd? I may have some kind of issue with mine. I too notice a drop in performance in 4th-6th.

I really need to order that B5 TIP. Then I need to visit B5.

Sean, why not go for a custom map rather than revo stage 2? I'm quite far from Bill but fully intend on visiting him one day (once I've raised my car to get on his dyno!!)

Hmm it looks like I'll have to add that to the list now as well  hehe.

Yes more or less, it seems to hold boost the whole throughout ever since I trimmed my B5 too loosen a kink and fit it properly!

Yes you do.. order it ASAP :D

To be honest, I probably would go with a custom code map but the only thing is its hard to get someone to do it over here :( there is one though which I might try visit, he done Robbies MK1 LCR which is currently over 300bhp+, but he's got a serious list of modifications on his!

what used to happen when you had the kink in it? I'm wondering if something similar has happened to my Forge TIP, as it was a struggle to move the filter into the correct position to fit on a mounting bracket (didn't check if the TIP was restricted)

custom map I did on an LCR yesterday.
130k mile car, new std k04 turbo
My V2.2 Billet TIP, S2000 filter only mods

Nice working car.... Responded well. Boost was 1.17bar (17psi, flat)

It would lose boost completely, then the engine warning light would come on due to MAF readings because it would disconnect. A serious nightmare :( trimmed it back to loosen the kink and then tightened it back on, worked a trick.

It might be worth checking your TIP too see if it's connected properly, the pipe could have collapsed and looses boost under pressure?

That's a very impressive figure. Was the car running any other mods?

It seems custom code remaps seem to be the way too go?
