Colours available:

- Dynamic Grey (custom colour) - as shown in press shots
- Phantom black (metallic)
- Monsoon Grey (metallic)
- Ice Silver (metallic)
- Nevada White (metallic)
- Emocion Red (standard colour)
- White (standard)

Scott

Dynamic Grey is a further £100 more than the other metallics, which is typical as it's the one I would go for.

The colour options don't sound that inspiring do they, I'm sure they will all look quite different but there sounds like a lack of imagination, I mean where is the blue, yellow or green???

could have been a winner but not with those colours

but iirc , when i got my mk2 leon it didnt come in blue , blue was introduced later on , so was the orange and green.

so maybe it will be a cupra r specific colour?

That's a lot of cash for a seat. Wonder if they will hold there value as well as the other vag brands vw/Audi or drop rapidly.

Nae chance. There won't be dealer restrictions as to how many they can get like there is with a Golf.

In addition just wait until Broadspeed and other brokers start selling them for 10-20% discount on list like they are now with the FR.

I don't think think the Leon depreciation will be any better - I do however think that if the Cupra R comes with 300bhp, 4x4 and loaded with toys and actually looks the part like say an RS3 then S3 and Golf R residuals will be affected.

Also, some people just won't buy SEAT or Skoda because it's not German - and loads of people class the Leon as bargain basement just like Skoda - perhaps the jump in interior quality and performance will sway some. However for those who like their car to say "Look at me" like the VXR, RS, GTi, Megane RS, Focus RS etc it may be a tough choice as the Cupra will only be half the car people want (ie all the go with no show).

We will see.

I agree. The color choice is surprisingly poor. Atleast give us the two blue's (Apollo and Alor) that come with the regular mk3's.
White, black, red and 3 different variations of grey ain't gonna cut it!

Is there a confirmed spec list anywhere? I'd like to know if stuff like Nav, cruise and parking sensors is included

I agree with eck, £28.5k for a Seat is a lot of money especially the way the depreciate, I personally was thinking £25-26k for the most expensive flavour would be acceptable.

If they do bring out an R model it's going to be at least £30k based on that price list imo, and a little more with extra's I'm just not sure it's worth it.

with a Golf R starting at £29,900.00 (admittedly less kit) I dont know where theyre going to go with the Cupra R pricing. I know that spec for spec it will always be cheaper but considering depreciation it makes no sense.

Just to put pricing into perspective
I bought my current mk 2 Cupra fully loaded 5 years ago as an ex demo 4 month old car for £17.5 k
On today's list prices of £28 k with discounts to be applied I can't see a 4 month old car being under £22 -23k

Have car prices really gone up that much in 5 years ?
After all it is a Seat

I am not in the market for one now as SEAT took too long to pull their finger out and give us the details.

However, it isn't to say I might not buy one in time and as such I would be interested to know what they will be offering in the way of kit to make it look like it performs as to be honest it looks as dull as dish water - the FR looks more sporty with its fog lights. Hopefully it wont be an updated Aero kit with slats in the rear bumpers but perhaps some kind of deeper more muscular bumpers or a chin splitter, side skirts and a more pronounced roof spoiler.

Will there be a choice of wheels as the OEM wheels look a bit like what you can get from the Ripspeed brand at Halfords from the promo pictures.

Are there any plans for OEM tuning modifications like proper stainless exhausts, uprated suspension (the car clearly needs a subtle drop to be honest) and a SEAT version of the Mountune tuning pack for the Focus ST where the car can be safely tuned a further step without invalidating the warranty.

Also - what/when/how much will the Cupra R be?

I have to second Al on specifically the tuning packages question. Why can SEAT not get onto a tuning company that can offer an upgrade package that will be safe and not invalidate warranty. Surely they MUST realise there is a trend here and many people take up offers like this?

Hi Chris

Could be worth asking about the thoughts behind the lack of yellow (a real Cupra colour in my opinion). And I know its been said - but i think it needs the front fogs or the FR is in danger of looking a lot nicer. The base Ibiza has no front fogs and looks similar, too the untrained eye...
