MK3 Leon Cupra, what we know

Just noticed the fuel gauge in the speedo and the temperature gauge in the rev counter , nice little touches.
Is that the standard interior seats in the pics ?
Or is it the optional leather ?

The clocks look great, especially at night. This is from my FR, bit blurry but you get the idea.

I think the generated press pics show the optional leather, standard equipment is supposed to be part leather/alcantara similar to my FR, bar the differences in colour and stitching.

Cracking the ECU is only half the problem. You've also got to take into account whether it can be mapped through OBD or whether it is ECU out job. Also will it leave a big red flag when going into the dealers for warranty/service work? With Audi having this TD1 (or whatever it's called) and BMW having a similar system in place, I can't imagine it will be long before most manufacturers follow suit.
Of course if you're not bothered about warranty and happy to roll the dice, then fill your boots.. ha

will be an OBD flash and TD1 shouldn't be an issue but time will tell

And your probably going to have more warranty issue using a box than a proper map as fooling the cars ecu into fake readings really is a poor way of doing this IMO

there is no needle its the little white dash's next to the gauges

Tempted by the DSG but lower VED and slightly (i know it's marginal) MPG could sway me toward the manual at the end of the day. If there is a CUP inspired limited edition I would definately be all over that To be fair this came at the right time as I am looking at owning a new car by June so this works out pretty darn well for me.

Take those MPG figures with a pinch of salt, it aint that much different to the MK2, better yes but only by around 5 mpg when compared with my last car at the minute.

I havnt really tested the eco settings out yet though, that's all a bit

Yup no needles, just lit microdots.

Not noticed tbh, I filled mine up before I got low fuel warning, probably somewhere between half full and qtr empty. I've not driven it much over xmas period, and I only got it at the beginning of December so its only had about a tank of fuel through it so far.

Its probably based on ideal conditions, and start-stop.

Like my FR, its good, but I'm not seeing figures as quoted, but then I do have a heavy right foot.

Good thing about the ECO setting though is that turn the sound actuator down which is a bit of an annoying drone unless you're ragging it.

Must say the digital ascpect looks very modern and puts the golf to shame, im still stuck with boring old dials lol

Looks ok I suppose, the real pulling power in my opinion is they have upped the power and managed to work wonders with the MPG.

I hope they do make an R and that the rumours of 4wd and 300+bhp are true, would also be interesting to see how much they would tweak the styling.

loving that sat nav, might be a bit distracting whilst giving it the beans but you would probably turn it off. Only reservation is that it makes the centre bit seem all plain and bmw like without the screen in the middle

Sat nav is perfectly placed in my opinion having driven the 5-Door,SC and ST variants.


Alot better than the MK2 which you have to keep looking down at

Think all in it looks like a great package, real value for money when compared to the Golf Gti and whilst personally i'd like it to look at tad more agressive I think it looks nicer than the Golf anyway, expecially in SC. Most of the car sites that have reported on it today seem to be saying they prefer the looks to the Golf too, so combined with the extra kit and performance should be a winner!
