Not it this weather it won't lol
Want a bet? Ask G about said corner in the wet . Four wheel drive wont help grip on a corner - only with traction when pulling out of the corner.
The wheelspin issue is something I hated about the Leon hence why my next car will be four wheel drive. Having said that, when pressing on pretty hard with an LSD (on a dry road), the experience is somewhat different.
However, to drive, even with an open diff, other than wheelspin, the front drive 2.0T is faster than the four wheel drive when;
1) On a rolling start
2) Round mid/high speed corners
The problem with the likes of an Evo, especially a heavily tuned one is
1) Cost to run (fuel/insurance/servicing
2) Reliability (state of tune dependant)
3) Once they are on the move, they need more power than an equivalent sized front wheel drive car to be as quick due to drivetrain losses and extra weight.
Regarding launching issues, you just need to learn how to nurse the car off the line - less power = more spring on a launch
