Any word on a release date, specification, prices etc yet?

I am getting close to making a decision on the next car and if the SEAT doesn't get some info/dates/prices out soon, its definitely not going to be a consideration unforatunately.

I'm holding on too but Seat are gonna have to start releasing some facts or we will all be ordering Golf R,s, M135,s. and S3,s.

I'd be surprised if they gave anything away other than its coming out next year, which we already know.

And if it's AWD it'll be up there with one of Steve Jobs famous .... one last thing! announcements.

Sadly can't see that happening at this stage, so the. GolfR and S3 are your current options.

I'm going ECO warrior for a while in an FR, and hope the rumours of an exciting Cupra R come to fruition.

Plus that's a good 3 years that the tuners can use all these early adopters as guinea pigs for their beta products. ;)

It would indeed be a (pleasant) surprise if it was all wheel drive. As mentioned already though it's unlikely. The Golf R and S3 have always had all wheel drive. The Leon Cupra has only had front drive.

Dunno about anyone else but I get a bit bored of wheelspin especially when some old woman can smoke you at the lights on a wet day in a discovery or similar.

Lol, know what you mean. It's those pesky BMW 118d's with their RWD that depress me most on a wet day, takes a good 100m before you reel them in! :(

It was just a test mule in matt grey.. Looked like a standard Leon it didn't have Cupra badges or body kit.

It however had lime green brakes which looked like the 345mm kit with nice calipers and 4 exhausts.

The bloke brought it to the hotel stopped for a minute that disappeared quickly.

First thing I would have done was look under the back of it for traces of a prop shaft, diff and drive shafts ;)

Ran off eh? So as in 2 movement implements rather than four eh

You need to run next time - just beware of the car reversing when you are doing the under the rear end inspection ;)

Something else ive noticed is

Some of the test mules have 4x exhausts, some 2x exhausts (on either side)

so it looks like a dual sided exhaust will be in the final production

There is one thing that might be a downer to all this good talk and thats the new ECU these cars are going to use.

Audis new diagnostic software checks for software updates and changes and if they are detected your car is flagged as modified and its good bye warranty.

i would imagine that VW and SEAT will be upgrading to this latest diagnostic software and maybe Audis policy.
And if thats true means either writing off your warranty or waiting for the mods to begin.

I cant understand why SEAT dont do a Mountune style tuning package , they must know most owners love modifying their products , and if they embraced it they would actually make more money from it and have a sustained customer base , actually maybe sort out the customer service first

Oh and Andrew as no one asked was it DSG??????

I've paid for vehicle checks on the Spanish plates #256 post and the number plate you saw Andrew just see if they come back with anything.
