Well today I picked up a lovely grey FR550, didn't get home until 9:30 so Im yet to clean it up and take some good photos (not that I can post them on here yet:cry:)

Just a few things need doing, airbag warning light needs looking into, a new front fog driver side light as the old one is cracked and broke plus the driver side mirror as it currently has 1 white on after the previous owner had it removed by a careless driver.

One thing I must say, those bucket seats are so comfortable I nearly fell asleep on the 100 mile drive home

Plans:

Done
Replace damaged fog light
Colour code mirror covers
Pressed metal plates

In Progress
Rear window tint - Ordered Tint
Black badges - Ordered Vinyl
Tint front and rear lights - Ordered Tint
Spray front bonnet plastic trim - Ordered Paint
Polish out scratches - In progress using G3 professional polish

To Come
BTCC Kit
BTCC Spoiler
DPF Removal
PTorque remap
Rear LED lights (if I find a pair cheaper then the stealers)

Slightly lower springs 30-40mm
Upgrade stero unit for other VW screened unit (not sure which yet)

Well 1 day of ownership and I've uncovered a problem that the previous owner didn't want to repair, the cam sensor is knackered according to Seat after a VagCom check, oddly the car didn't have a new belt and pump at its last service 2 monhs ago at 86k, arn' these due?

Did you buy it from a dealer? If so get them to fix it
I had a one car with same symptoms and as someone else mentioned a new temp sensor fix it

On a worse note & hopefully this is not the case with yours, But I had another car that had the same symptoms as yours and despite having lots of time and money thrown at it,the fault got better but would still happen on occasions, in the end the dealer gave up and bought the car back

Purchased private unfortunately, had to replace 2 tyres too and ideally could do with 4 despite them only being 2 months old they were shockingly ****! The front were 'event' tyres, just read these reviews http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Event/WL905.htm I had traction lights coming on in 3rd if anything as much as a damp cloth had touched the road and sliding on roundabouts at 10mph... Then the back tyres were some other shocking budget make I cant even find anywhere online, one of which had warped and made a noise similar to a worn bearing yet still had 7mm tread  The fact these tyres were £40 locally says it all :-o

Ended up with some fairly budget replacements on the front, some Altenzo equators which already feel so much better and give more feel for the road at £60 a corner wern't bad and will do for now, I plan on getting some premium tyres for the front and put these Altenzos on the back once I have some more money and the cam sensor is sorted, my previous car a Fiesta ST with a 172 mountune kit had Pirelli Zeros all round and gripped like **** to a blanket :D Also got the car valeted by my local immigrant car wash as all my cleaning stuff is locked in a garage of a friend who's away on holiday, looks better anyway!

Disappoint by how many marks it has now its all clean, something I NEED to sort otherwise it will bug me but hopefully a professional detailer could sort most these out, some will polish out I think others not so.

The worst is a dirty big groove missing from the rear bumper

Lots of fine scratchs over the doors and rear quarter

Busy weekend, pressed plates are on, mirrors sprayed gloss black, some smoked tint for the rear and front lights ordered, led bulbs for plate and interior ordered, black vinyl 1m square ordered for all de-chroming ordered.

As for the paint work I brought some G3 pro polishing compound, so far I've only applied it to two scratches that were really bugging me on the rear quarter as seen below and they are near invisable now

Looks really nice mate, I'm sure all of those dents and scratches will be able to come out. The smart repair guys are really good. I know a good one in Luton if you are in that area?

Grill and rear badge now wrapped however I need to redo the rear badge and sort the tension on the spring as (1) The finish isn't good enough (2) the spring isnt making the badge click back down, will take it off tomorrow. Looking at DPF removal and a stage 1 map next week now at P-Torque, also bidding on an RCD 510

Car looks stunning mate,

Will be good once you have the new headunit in! Do they work with Pre-FL's?

Yes they do, I believe pre 08's need the CAN gateway changing, unsure if I will yet as its an 08 but pre-facelift. Waiting on a DAB aerial now. Can pick these RCD510's up for around £200 on ebay
