Hi guys,
I have a bit of a question for the ARL guys, my cars going into the garage in a couple of weeks to have the cambelt and waterpump replaced, but i was going to get them to check it over as i have a feeling i have a boost leak as well, being as the power is down a bit and its a little smokey on startup and at full chat, its only covered 60k atm, a few weeks ago i got under the car and one of the intercooler pipes was hanging out a bit, so i pushed it back in. after talking to one of the revo remap guys at edition 38 they said that due to the connections that are fitted to the hoses i would probably need to replace the pipe as the connection had failed.
so here is my question (after the essay haha!) would it be worth spending out the extra dosh on a darkside development solid and silicone hose kit at £250, and maybe the s3 FMIC that they sell for £250 to remove the dreaded connections all together? and if so would it be worth removing the egr valve at the same time?
the only concern that i have, is that the pancake pipe on the darkside kit isnt flattend, and apparently on the Cupra R this can lead to the steering hitting it on full lock? i know i dont have the Cupra R but i have a set of Cupra R wheels and i have been looking into the Cupra R coilovers that apparently need the ARB from the Cupra R, but will allow it to be dropped low rather than fitting over the top of the driveshaft?
im really after some options to see what everyone else has done?
cheers all and i await your replys
Jon
