Right guys being as I have a rather expensive 1.5kw ish system out of my old car I think its time I put some of it to good use. It might be 10 years old but still packs a punch and was well over £2000 when new.

I have 2x 12 inch DB audio 1000w subs (375rms) each which were run off a 800 legacy amp bridged to 2ohms so delivering 400w to each. 4 sets of magnat component sets which ran off a alpine v12 500w amp, a Pioneer headunit which was the expensive one with the dolphin graphics ect. Cant remember its model number but had an amazing graphics equalizer which was very in depth for very fine tunning. Plus all the cables, filters and spliters needed.

In the LCR I am guessing I have standard speakers and a JVC headunit which is no where as good as the Pioneer from what I have worked out. I am not looking for anything daft like the whole set up could do but do want a good sound.

Basically I am not cutting anything in the car, I need almost all the boot and having a box and amp is a pain with a dog or tools as it just gets trashed. The sub box I had is custom made to fit in the back of a colt and both amps were fitted with fans so I still had half a boot.

The only idea I have is loose the 18inch spare and make a custom box to sit one sub in, I wont be able to also get its amp in so I will have to build a false floor. This will take up enough of my boot space but I can then fit the amp to power the sub and also the alpine if I decide to use that to power the car speakers.

Can anyone help me or give me better ideas????

Put it under the boot linen where the wheel is then you have sound aswell as boote space, winning!

Its the only thing I can think of, I will just use the one sub and have a spare (sub) lol. I know there are good flat speakers ect which can go under seats ect but dont thing I will get proper low range from it!

its all about the 30htz :p but I am not sure I can get the volume needed but then I just want some better sound

That's what I did. Made a custom box with a jl audio 12" sub , powered by a alpine amp. Door speakers up graded to Bose . I would get a picture up for you , but not a clue how to do that with my iPhone .

I am not selling, not sure how it would fair in todays market but they were very expensive when new and I fitted a cheap amp lol

Never had head unit out so no idea on pre outs so guess start with the sub and a nice little false floor and some perspex

About the amp built in, if you want to run if to near its proper output make sure its got proper air flow, CPU fans are good

My amp is mounted on the back seat. Just the sub in the wheel well. My fault for not explaining myself . :)

Will you be fibre glassing inside the wheel well or something similar as surely it won't give a good sound having a tin base to your enclosure??

i have a false floor in the boot for my amp and speaker crossovers.
and in the boot i have a "small" square sub box with a 10" sub.
now if i need more space in the boot i turn off the sub from the head unit, and disconnect the wires from the sub box, you could do the box with "disco" speaker connector for easy removing if you need to take it out more offen.

the false floor is only so high that the amp have some air over it. its not eaven that hard to make a false floor. and you have almost the same boot space.

I was looking at putting in the new 8" pioneer in a custom box over the rear passenger wheel nice little space for it plus don't loose the spare wheel or any boot space
