Busy day today in preparation for the rolling road event at AmD tomorrow.

Firstly we set about trying to mend the splitter

We managed to sort it as much as possible and its looking good again which is a relief.

Next up was to swap over the rubbish OEM hoses for the new forge ones. The charge pipe to N75 hose was so brittle it broke when I was taking it off but the main bugger was the charge pipe to turbo hose which had teared badly as you can see from the pic:

Final task was to tackle the filth ready for tomorrow

With today being a bit hectic I completely forgot to take any more pics. Cars all sorted and looking smart once again. Looking forward to tomorrow, always a good laugh and nice to catch up with people

Shame about your splitter dude. I quite fancied one of the carbon Supercopa ones that pop up on ebay every so often, but it's so easy to whack them I decided not to bother. Glad you got it sorted.

I got the Forge turbo outlet pipe as part of the used FMIC kit and pipework I bought off Willie last year. Never got round to fitting it yet, partly cos I gathered the OEM hose is meant to be pretty good - having seen yours I think I'll get my finger out and swap it! Did you re-use the OEM jubliees or did you get new clips?

More bad news regarding the splitter mate but il come to that later :(

My hose was awful, I'm guessing it mostly went because of the track day I did but hard to tell. Would recommending checking yours and changing if needs be. I re-used the clips that were on there already. They looked in great condition so didn't see any reason changing them

That is a shame about the splitter mate, as I said I decided to just stick with standard ones because it doesn't take much to whack them.

Thanks for the tip on the turbo hose, I'll have to get stuck into that when I get back.

It has been a crazy couple of days. So after getting the car ready and with big hopes that I was heading to the AmD rolling road event with my car on top form did everything quickly turn.

There was a mini convoy as a few of us live very close to each other. The moment we set off I knew something was not right with the car. Would only hit 1 bar of boost and had no real grunt to it. Get to AmD only to find that the middle section of my custom splitter had broken badly and was just about hanging on. Luckily it didn't come off on the motorway and cause any damage to my car or more importantly anyone else. This all must have happened because I split it making it weak.

I still stuck the car on the rollers, and the moment they finished running it Shaun the MD of AmD comes up to me saying there's something wrong with this car and that I must have a boost leak. Car only pulled 240 bhp but looking at the graph it was smooth and no major drop off at any point so it must be a leak somewhere important.

They say bad things come in 3's right? Well the third bad luck I have had is that my shiny throttle body cover decided to jump ship :( We re-sprayed the throttle body and I had to use new double sided tape to hold it in place. Obviously didn't want to hold.

Nevertheless I still had a fab day at AmD yesterday. Always enjoy these, great atmosphere, plenty of friendly banter, some seriously good cars and you got to love the dodgy BBQ!!!

Only had my iPhone to take pics on:

Looks like you're about to kick the fog light grill, shame about the splitter though. Gutted I'm all the way up here.

Time to move further south northern boy ;)

The guys are debating what I'm doing in that pic. So far some think I'm about to leak boost, doing a traditional Turkish dance or the river dance!!!

Quick question people, maybe a bit of a dumb question but need to check. Do others hear a slight hissing noise from the lower intercooler hoses when the cars on idle?

I just checked all of the accessible hoses and they seem fine. I've never listened around the intercooler before so not sure if that's normal or not. I'm going to do a DIY boost leak test soon. Getting bits together for it.

It's odd as I drove the car afterwards and it feels like its boosting and spooling hard until it hits 1 bar where it stays throughout the rev range. I checked the DV as I put the new style 007 piston in there from forge and that all seemed fine. Hopefully when I do a boost leak test I will find something as I'm stuck at the moment. Will try log the car at some point to see if its anything like a dodgy n75 or something.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your TB cover. I lost a fog light grill today. I wouldn't get to hung up on the RR Results your car looks great.

These cars just seem to want to break themselves lol

I know there is a issue with the car. 1 bar boost is not right when the car use to run 1.5 bar
