I'm currently running a BAM engined Mini with a hybrid IHI turbo which is pushing out just under 350hp at the crank. I'm looking to compete in a race series this year but need to get the engine sorted as it is still running std rods.

Ideally i'm looking for more mid and top range power with full boost around 3-3500 and a bulletproof build that can handle 7500ish rev limit.

The turbo would have to be underslung for packaging reasons but what is a good race turbo which would give 400-425ish hp with supporting mods?

On the topic of supporting mods, is it worth going for the stroker kit, cams and a larger inlet manifold?

Recommendations welcome :)

stroker = yes.. makes for a ncie flexible broader spread of torque.

IHI's make me nervous.. Generally fragile, unless its a garrett based hybrid?

Owens make a few versions, as do turbo dynamics. (racers I know use Owens for their turbo builds specific for racecars, different spec bearings used... important)

Cams help, larger inlet helps, stroker helps.. etc etc etc

Is your mini 2wd or 4wd? Power/torque is all well and good if its tractable power

Its 2wd but running slicks.

The IHI was sourced from Jabbasport so think its an Owens version.
