Get that wallet open mate ;)

I will soon mate :)

It is alot of money but tyres and brakes shouldn't be skimped on yellow stuff would probably be fine for a stage two Lcr etc but some thing as mad and quick as yours needs some thing that will make you stop just as well as it goes :) Ds3000 then track abuse the car :)

Valid point, will make sure I buy something decent. Just going to wait on a price from someone else.

DS3000's from camskill..... £275! OUCH!

Might stick with the yellow's for a while. Didn't realise they would be that expensive...

Jesus!! thought you had been misquoted for a moment but then I remembered your not on standard Brembo's.

Seems a hell of a difference though for your calipers, what calipers are you using again??

As a comparison they are £140-150 max to fit the standard calipers.

Using the forge 6 Pot calipers, similar to the K-Sport one's

£275 is a lot for a set of pads, but i suppose you get what you pay for in reality.

Ds2500's for my cayenne turbo 18z 6 pots were £280, but have now bought some 996 turbo 4 pots (fronts) to go on mine shortly as can get ds3000 for £150 for them and the thought of spending that kind of money on pads again was killing me lol

You changed callipers because of the price of pads?

That was one of the reasons and probably the main one, both calipers use the same size r32 discs and current pads are nearly down to metal so rather than get new pads for the cayennes have bought a more sensible caliper and will sell the 6 pots for more than what I paid for the 4's

Should also end up a lot more balanced set up to match the master cylinder and the S4 rears ;)

What was the brake pedal like with the Porsche callipers? Big callipers... I was thinking about them but didn't know if the master cylinder would cope with the fluid volume required to fill them.

Just been having a look at the S4 rear brake upgrade. Goes from 256mm rears to 300mm rears, I know the car uses the front brakes a lot more under braking but I would be nice to know I've got adequate brakes on the rear too.

Had a brief chat with Bill earlier, mapping is underway and he has decided to build a new map from scratch. He thinks he can make it a better all round map by doing it this way rather than tweaking the old one, something to do with the size of the MAF tube that the MAF sensor that sits in it, much beyond my understanding of how ecu's work. Also adding all the trinkets like ALS, GBB, NLS and lots of other acronyms :)

Quality service!

Looking forward to going up on Saturday and having a catch up with Bill and collecting the car. He has also cleaned up a few bits for me on the battery reloco.

*hides in cupboard*

Car will be going back up to Bill at some point to have the cams put in, will be very interesting to see what the results are...

Bet you can't wait to get it back from Bill. Having a completely new map will be awesome. I'm sure it will be amazing. Looking forward to seeing how it will performs at the AmD RR.

I have loved them to be honest

The pedal is of coarse longer but find it is progressive and brake hard with little effort

Am a bit fed up of wheel clearance issues though as not found many wheels to fit over them, am currently running subaru 19' OZ superlegs which are et48 but had to use 25mm spacers which are still tight, am hoping that the 996's give me more options

Theres a bloke on asn doing the 300mm rear kits for a very good price, i got mine off of DaveB a while back but these are the same sort of set up

will see if i can find a link :)

Really looking forward to seeing what the outcome of this week at Bills is, it should be an absolute animal when you get it back :drive1:

Had a brief chat with Bill....

Still being mapped.... got to 505HP & 470lb/FT torque....

Decided to 'tone down the madness' and settle somewhere around the 480bhp mark...

Wonder what will happen when a set of cams are thrown into the mix!

I have bought a new pair of M&S brown pants for the drive home :D

I know I did'nt tickle it that much... Glad I lifted off... phew..

Assembled again with loctite to hopefully prevent this from occuring again.

Explains a couple of things I've noticed on the few runs I've managed to get time to do the last couple of days tho..
back to square one on boost control tho, if this was moving whilst I was adjusting, who knows whats right now. Revert to as originally mapped boost control settings again me thinks.. :hide:
