number plate LED's

im thinking about changing the number plate lamps for LED's to see if they give a whiter light.. thought it may look quite good?.. has anyone done it and got any pics?

does anyone know type of lamp they got in? .. save me taking them out to hava look.

ive done this mod...

you need white led festoon bulbs normally 42mm but most places supply them in 37mm now.

i got my led's from ultraleds.com excelent services and quick delivery times.

MK 2 Leon FR

I've tried to do this mod - but I'm not having any luck...

I have a 08 plate Leon Mk 2 FR - my number plate bulb sizes are 37mm CW5's - I bought some 37mm 5w LED's from UltraLeds, but I cant get them to work properly! http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/37mm-leds-festoon-output-cool-white-p-1496.html

When I turn on my ignition, they light up for bout 5 seconds then go off...if I turn on my lights they light up for 5 seconds, then turn off!

Don't quite know what I'm doing wrong - I thought this was a simple mod to do, just take out the old bulb and replace with this one?

From what I've been reading on the forums, they should work fine and everyones got them!

Has anyone done this mod with the new shape Mk2 Leon?

Anyone got any helpful hints, pointers or ideas on where I might be going wrong?

I have a 57 plate cupra but am doing this Mod soon. I have read that if they dont work, take the bulb back out, rotate it 180 degrees and put it back in, then it should work mate.
