It doesn't look out of place at all. Very nice! Hope you were happy with the cloth? IMO, Brilliant cloth for the price. If you had enough, you could re-trim you boot lining; saves you having to take an age to get all marks off the present lining. Mine seemed to hold on to everything and was impossible to clean up. Great work :)

Thanks for the heads up on the cloth. It's a good match and priced well. I've given up with trying to keep the boot clean. At the moment it's filled with muddy boots, push chair with muddy wheels and any wood I can find. I try not to get to hung up on how clean it is being my daily. I'm no detailer that's for sure :)

Didn't get as much done as I wanted today but had a few cups tea and chats with Dad. The 225 wheel is a vast improvement over the 210 wheel. All I need now is the recaro seats and my life will be compleat.

I managed to get the TT front strut brace fitted but photobucket won't let me up load photos. Rather than cutting a chunk out of the brace. The bracket that holds the bonnet lifter on was removed and the lifter now hinges on the strut brace. It means I need to paint the area the bracket was attached to. But it I didn't have to lose any strength from the brace. It's not going to win me any scene point but function over form is my aim.

I had a really good drive over the Wolds early this morning with hardly any traffic. After having the diff fitted for over a year know. It still leaves me open mouthed at time with just how much grip it delivers! On cold damp roads I don't think I'd of been getting back on the power exiting corners an early in a 4wd car. You guys that don't have them fitted shouldn't underestimate how much a LSD would change you've life for the better!!!!!!!

My cars booked in with LSVR on Friday for a service (I could do it much cheaper my self) and the front ARB to be fitted. I've also just ordered a few more forge hoses so I'm only a few bits short of sorting the engine bay out.

Couldn't agree more re the diff. Should have come with them from the factory!!!

I've just asked this question on the MK1 section but thought I'd post it here as well.

My car is ten years old this year and so is the battery. The battery has never let me down but has struggled at times in the cold weather recently. One of the next thing on my to do list is to relocate the battery to the boot. I have a feeling this extra demand will be the tipping point for the current battery. So I'm looking to replace it in the next month or so.
I've been looking at the red top battery's as I like the idea of a sturdy sealed unit that's more compact and lighter that a standard battery. I've been looking at the Varley, optima and Odyssey red tops.
Has anyone got any experience of any of these battery's or any others I've over looked? Also what size would be recommended?

I was looking at optima batteries for mine. I couldn't justify the extra £ when I won't be putting any additional electronics through it.

I went for a Bosch S5 in the end which comes with a 5year guarantee

Shame as me, was going to get an optima yellow top but couldnt justify the money
Went for an S5 as well, 5 year guarentee is a plus too

Most lightweight race batteries dont hold the charge for more than a couple of days if the car isnt run, just something else to consider

Since Christmas I've been re doing my boost gauge holder. I wanted to make it look a little neater.
So first I trimmed it down.

When fitting my strut brace I did it different to many. I did want to cut the strut brace so the bracket that holds the gas strut was removed by drilling out the spot welds

My car's going in to LSVR tomorrow for a service and to fit these bits. Also the TCS light keeps coming on and staying on so they are going to look at that. Hopefully with the lambda sensor being fitted I'll get that 5 mpg back again! I'm looking forward to seeing what the front ARB is like but a little apprehensive. As I like the balance of the car at the moment.

Neuspeed front ARB is great mate you'll love it I have all the handling mods now and it feels very balanced at corner at low and higher speeds.

Good progress keep it up.

The gauge pod looks great! How are you finding the stack boost gauge?
Thanks I'm pretty pleased with how it looks. I haven't fitted the gauge yet as the thread on the ball joint I fitted to the gas strut is to big so is only resting on it. I need to change the T piece and piping for the gauge. When I tried the wind nearly smashed the bonnet into the windscreen so I gave up for know! I'll let you know.

Neuspeed front ARB is great mate you'll love it I have all the handling mods now and it feels very balanced at corner at low and higher speeds.

Good progress keep it up.

I hope it's going to improve things but I do like the slight oversteer I have now.

Obvious answer to that would be a bad MAF. They'll hit your MPG if they go on the wonk and if they're properly shot the TCS light comes on - MAF readings are required for the TCS/ESP to work properly. Have you any way of checking it, i.e. VAGCOM/VCDS or a liquid gauge, for example?

Maybe a bit late now but you can also try disconnecting it and drive about, if the car feels any better then you know it's shagged. The TCS light will come on and stay on if it's disconnected, eventually the car will go into limp mode until you connect it again.

Front ARB is a nice mod, it's more subtle than I was led to believe. I only really notice it if I'm pushing on quite hard, but then I got the Golf R32 23mm one, the Neuspeed is likely stiffer so you may feel it more obviously. Have you done the rear one yet?
