Hi everyone,

Not much of an update when it comes to the car. It’s tucked up in the garage and staying away from all this pants weather we’ve been having. My car is booked in to have an engine and gearbox oil change on 12 Feb. I’ll be using Opie Oils’ Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-30 Ester Synthetic Engine Oil. I already have the engine flush and gearbox oil. The car will be ready to move then on 18 Feb, when we move house. The other bits that I’ve mentioned previously are in the process of being purchased/fitted. Time is pretty tight at the moment. I need to sort out my door seals too. My carpet is nice and dry ATM…

In other news, with our baby due in 7 weeks (gulp) we’ve decided to buy a decent DSLR. We went with a Nikon (I know, more car-fund money gone). Tbh, although it’ll be great to capture our little one, I’m equally as excited about getting some quality shots of the car :D Especially as it gets stripped down for the body shop in the summer. Can’t wait for July when it’s due to go in!

I have heard this line way too many times but then some time later I hear people looking at wheels. Soon there will be plenty of us tempting others to take the plunge for new wheels ;)

I'll enjoy seeing others' cars with new wheels on, including yours El, but I won't tempted. I love the LCR wheel. Plus it's increasingly impossible to find a wheel that suits the car that hasn't been done it to death. I honestly think that you've found the perfect wheel! Can't wait to see your pictures of them fitted to the car in the spring :D

Thanks mate, the pressure is on now lol To be fair your wheels are mint so no real point changing them. Mine on the other hand are letting the car down a little so thought hard whether to refurb them or change wheels. Like you said it is difficult to find wheels to suit these cars and also fitment being such a pig. Fingers crossed mine go on and sit as I hope. I am now ready for them to go on but waiting on the weather to clear up some more

Nice buy mate :)

No doubt you'll get plenty of good shots of the little one and the car with the camera.

Roll on the decent weather!

Getting things together for the oil change. Rather than paying someone else to do the oil change, I'm really tempted to do it myself in March once we've moved. It's booked in prior to driving the car 60 miles to the new house, but the present oil is only 8 months old and I think I can live with driving it a short distance without changing it... hhmmm...

Car tax is due tomorrow then it's all ready for the road :)

Definitely do it yourself James. Also isn't your car garaged at the moment so not done much mileage on the current oil?

Yes, it's probably only done about 500 miles. It's just that it's sat for a while?? I have everything needed to do it. I've never done it before but I like to give everything a go. Time is the only factor really. It could always wait for me the other side of the house move. I'll give it some thought.

I was going to service my car my self this time but Lincoln VW Specialists only charge £130 for a service. With my free time limited it gives me more time to mod it.

I see what you're saying but I have everything, so I'd just be paying for the labour. Hope yours is feeling better after its service and pre-lam?

I've just bought an engine undertray fitting kit off ebay for 10.90. As the tray will be coming off, I thought I'd replace all the clips. Decision is pretty much made I think; I'm gonna do it myself. I can put the front on jacks and service the HLS at the same time too. I'll then get it laser alligned.

Here's the link if anyone is interested:

Well, everyone seems to be posting brilliant updates of their recent progress... wheels... seats... maps... engines :ban:

So, here's my update... Today, I finished Anti-Natal Parenting classes in preparation for our little ones' arrival in just 5 weeks, and submitted my second assignment of the year for a uni degree that I stupidly decided to do on the side... :stars:

I'm desperate to spend some time on the car! This prolonged break has definitely brought the love/interest back. I'm just not sure when I'll get that chance TBH.

Hats off to everyone for their recent progression  Seats seem to have really good representation within the VAG community ATM. Hopefully it'll improve some more yet...
