OBD-II WIFI WLAN and Supporting Software…
I’ve always wanted a Liquid Gauge but have never been lucky enough to find one at the right price. Speaking with Tom about some alternatives, I stumbled across a piece of kit called Innovate Motorsports OT-2 which you can buy through PSI Tuning, amongst other places. It runs with an
OBD-II Wifi interface, and with the software, you can have it running through your i-Phone, i-Pad, Laptop, etc. It has a whole list of functions, which come close to matching the Liquid Gauge, including diagnostics and fault clearing facilities. The interface is roughly £126 and the software, through Apple Apps, is free.
It seems like a great bit of kit, but on some of the
reviews, the software hasn’t been updated for a while and some of its features have reportedly lapsed. So I had a look around and came across a piece of software called DashCommand, which is produced by Palmer Performance engineering. It’s available through the Apple Apps for £34.99.
Here’s a link for the software:

I’m really impressed with the outlay of this App, so I’m going to give it a go. So, reading about the compatible hardware needed, Wireless/WLAN is preferred over Bluetooth. The reason for this is that in some of the
reviews, maintaining connectivity with Bluetooth had been a bit problematic. So, I searched eBay for an
OBD-II Wireless WLAN:

For £26.99 plus P&P, in conjunction with the cost of the hardware (totals approx £67.00), it’s a cost-effective alternative to either the Innovate Motorsports OT-2, V1 Performance
OBD-II Logic Race Tuning Box, or the Liquid Gauge.
It might turn out to be a bag of pants, but I’ll let you know. I really like the idea of keeping the dash totally standard, and although the installation of the Liquid Gauge is excellent, may be this could be a feasible alternative? I think the Liquid Gauge may be the superior product, but hopefully the DashCommand
OBD-II will be a very close second.
I hope you have found this information of some use? Any guidance/further information would be greatly appreciated. It should be here next Friday so I'll let you know more about it then
