Dash lights going crazy and beeping

Hi guys, I'm really hoping you could help me out here.
I have a 56 plate Ibiza FR TDI which recently developed a crazy electrical problem and I have no idea why!

Basically when I turn the ignition on, the engine management light and airbag light are on and stay on when i start the car up. Then after a few minutes of driving a whole bunch of lights flash on the dash like the abs, traction control, oil light etc and it beeps 3 times, and then goes on to beep continuously while driving. Although all this happens, the car drives perfectly normal, no loss of power or anything. The car has recently been serviced and things such as oil levels and coolant are where they should be.

Its driving me crazy as I have no idea where to start looking for the problem!

I did borrow a VAG-COM from a cousin and carried out an auto scan using VCDS and found quite a few errors which sound very similar.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Harpal

Whats the battery voltage ?

Does it start well or is it hard to start ?

Because it is such a cheap thing to check/fix I would have a look at the load signal wire.
I would also check all of the earth points in the engine bay.

I haven't checked these things yet, but I had in mind that I should check earths and voltages. I will try and do this over the weekend.

The car starts up fine everytime, had no problems starting it up. Oh and the heating/AC and radio work perfectly fine, as well as indicators, headlights and brake lights etc. The only problem is the lights all flashing and beeping.

And the load signal wire issue I have heard of before, I'm guessing there are plenty of threads on it when I search?

Look here - http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=2316560&postcount=1

Its a quick and easy check/fix so you may as well tick it off the list

Sounds like a plan, will try and get under the car this weekend and this cable. Hoping its a simple fix like this! A mechanic had a look at the car about 2 days ago and told me that the ecu is screwed up and needs replacing! I hope this isn't the case because I really wouldn't like an expensive bill, especially at this time of year!

"The ECU needs replacing"

Yeah, that sounds like the opinion of a true spanner monkey with no clue about electronics.

Your error codes suggest to me that the supply voltage to the cars electronic system is lower than it should be.

Sounds to me like a communication wire is picking up noise probably by rubbing through the insulation and grounding out. I'd have a check & wiggle of the wiring loom from the ecu and also (with battery disconnected) disconnect & reconnect the ecu plug a few times to see if it helps

Been really busy so didn't manage to have a look at the car for a while, but had a look at the load signal cable and that was fine, couldn't see no signs of damage. I checked the earth from battery to chassis and that looked fine too. However i'm not the best with cars and couldn't find the other 2 ground cables as I didn't know where to look! Can anyone help?

Tried starting the car a day ago and it just wouldn't start so im still not sure what is going on. I havent checked the voltage over the battery but it has that health check light and it is green if that makes any difference?

Thought I would try it again today and it hasn't started after several attempts!

Hi
Sorry, I know this is a really old thread, I am having the exact same problem with my Seat Ibiza and after 3 weeks in the garage they are still no closer to finding the problem and are now looking at the wiring.
Harpal did you ever get to the bottom of what the issue was??
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
