I saw D.K's videos of the filter EL. It sounds lovely, especially with the Forge recirc valve. I went for a giant cyclonic Green filter. It sounded too 'Darth Vader' for me, so I enclosed it with a direct air feed. I'm pretty happy with mine. On turbo'd cars, you're always going to see less of a gain over NA cars unfortunately. I remember the Pipercross cone that I had one my Corsa 1.4S in my student days; it sounded the nuts :D

Seems like you've all made a very good choice with the Pipercross :) Hope the car is running well? New shoes hey??

You should have heard the car when I had the metal mesh filter fitted, was crazy loud.

Hoping to have a decent few updates coming soon, one of those being some new wheels. Need to plan it all in, going to start early 2013 but also need to get other things done outside of the car mods like my drop kerb which iv been warned its going to be at minimum £1k :ban:

Cars all good, few more 'maintenance' bits to do but it's never really ending to be honest.

As you replied on my thread G it's reminded me I wanted to ask where you got the pipercross from. Have nearly bought the jetex but the blue with red always made me pull a face!! But that new filter would be epic :)

Yeah I am keeping an eye on them now. I missed the bloody miltek one would have considered buying a non res pipe centre section!!

How much you pay for the filter? Is it just a universal one with a 80mm neck bro?

It is just a universal one mate. They retail around £40, I managed to get it a little less than that due to the offer they had on that day

I want to see your cosmetic work done on the car and also the wheels. Going to be some car when it's done mate :D

Am I being thick or is this a dropped kerb outside your house? Or is it some secret mod we don't know about? :D

If it's the kerb outside your house, just do it yourself. Get the shovels out, bit of tarmac, job done

Maybe the next DK splitter will be called a 'dropped kerb' or something? Lol.

El, wait for the snow and use the shovel's then. You can get away with murder and hack away way beneath the snow :p

I'd rather say it's a new fancy mod but nah it's a lame dropped kerb for the house so I can get the car on the drive. Can't get up there now

Some advise needed please. Probably a stupid question but thought I'd ask.

Looking at getting a new set of wheels soon. Looking at 8" wide wheels so have decided 235/40 tyres is the route I would like to go for a few reasons:

- 235/40 tyres will fill the arches more
- raises the car by a further 4mm
- provides more tyre protection for the wheels over 225 tyres

At the moment I have Toyo T1r tyres on the LCR wheels however the fronts need changing ASAP whilst the rears have plenty of life in them. I order to soften the blow to the wallet, I was possibly thinking about using the good tyres on the new wheels and buy two 235/40 tyres. So finally the question.......

Are there any obvious issues I should be a aware of if I were to run two different sized tyres on the car? Also I was thinking of leaving the 225 tyres on the rears and having the new 235 tyres up front as I don't really want the rear any higher as it will make the front dip further down and it still scraps at times in current form. Any thoughts appreciated!!
