Everyone needs a vent time to time mate and you'll feel so much better, then you realise how little these cars are worth and its better to stick at it
As for the problems you have, the ESP fault has flagged as intermittent so could be a one off.
The LCR sensor in the column are all longitudinal and lateral sensors in one unit and about £300
The clutch issue almost sounds like a dog bone vibration
Do you have the awesome clutch setup or OE

I read a bit more on the fault code on the Ross tech website where the following has come up:


00778 - Steering Angle Sensor (G85): Mechanical Failure
Possible Causes
- Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Basic Setting lost
- Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Installation Position incorrect
- Suspension Geometry incorrect

So I am guessing something has moved causing the sensor to misread. Not entirely sure what this sensor does to be honest so can't say for sure what's gone. Hopefully not a £300 fix but even if it is there's not much choice but to sort it. Still cheaper than buying a new car :ban:

I have the Awesome clutch and the dog bone mount was fitted with the superpro bush recently and to my knowledge torqued up correctly. The garage asked the same thing about the dog bone and said he will check that also to see if it is that in some way

I think sometimes if the geometry has been knocked out slightly so the car is travelling in a straight line but the steering wheel is turned slightly it may flag this fault, normally cured by alignment

I made a firm decision that I won't be buying any more modification parts for the car. Plan is to get these issues fixed, pay the insurance premium which is coming up at the end of the month and make do with the car.



So how on earth have I just ended up buying a set of aero wiper arms and blades and a set of tinted rear lights?????????????

This is the usual hold on mods because your slightly annoyed with the car for being a bit of a pig. Once it's fixed I know I will be back on it like mad. Already have the next set of wanted mods in mind!!!

Not getting rid yet. Want to get it to the standard I planned from day one plus we need to organise this track event for next year. North Vs South ;)


No James I don't swing that way so stop trying it on with me :lol:

Might as well add a useful post to this thread.

Few of the guys have been talking more about over fuelling which got me thinking about the massive flames I was kicking out my rear when we were convoying up to Players. I was recommended to logging block 32 to see my fuel trims.

Very straight forward to do:

[01-engine]
[meas. blocks - 08]
Type in 32 and hit go.

You then get two values, one is at idle and the other is at part throttle. Ross Tech have a lot of information on fuel trims which is worth a read to get a good understanding on what this means >> Fuel Trim Info

In simple terms if Lambda is greater than 1.0, the the engine is running lean. If Lambda is less than 1.0, the engine is running rich.

So log 1 showed there was a lot of over fuelling >>

A good friend and VAG specialist said straight away I have a leak somewhere based on that. So the fun began, checked all of the hoses within the bay and tightened all of the clips and cable ties :whistle:. The small ones under the inlet manifold, the catch can hoses, hoses connecting the DV, N75 etc etc etc ...................very long and boring job I must say.

Reset everything so fuel trims started from 0 so I can see how it runs this time round. Went for a bit of a drive and then scan the car again. Fuel trims have vastly improved and got the thumbs up from my friend >>

Then went for another drive taking it up to 5th-6th .................much more enjoyable then looking for bloody leaks!!!

Scanned the car again to see how my fuel trims look now and again everything looking good with the values being within tolerance >>

Car feels like a animal as always but boosting harder which my trusty boost gauge is showing. One thing I have noticed is the loud whistle on hard boost so believe I do have a leak somewhere but can't be assed to go finding more leaks as it's quick enough and plenty of fun tearing it up :)

Totally forgot about my other issues, probably not the best idea going for a mad drive but sod it. Next week the car will be getting more work done to sort out any issues it has and then my car insurance will get sorted :ban: After that it is finally time to set focus on the exterior. Got several plans so will see how they go. Should make it better for the shows next year!!

I would be interested to see your EGT logs on a vmax run

Going to be doing a whole load of logs soon (simply because its a buzz doing the WOT runs ;) ). Slowly getting my head around the whole understanding logs but will need some guidance from others once I have done them
