Got my 1.2tsi FR in June this year and about 4 weeks after having it hot a puncture and no spare tyre. Would really like to get one now especially for the winter coming up, also disappointed where I took the car to never had a matching tyre to go with other 3 tyres and slightly chipped my alloy in process grrr!

Anyway, I'm planning on going for new tyre to match the other tyres and keep the tyre I take off. Does the space in the boot take 17in alloy or steel rim or should I go for space saver?

Next question where should I look for one of these?

There's a guy on Ebay breaking a 2010 Ibiza that has the the foam tray, wheel jack, brace etc. and the wheel clamp to screw it down in the well.
I had the spare wheel :)

I cant post the link due to insufficient posts.
Search for "Seat Ibiza Mk5 2010 breaking (listing for wheel nut)" seller name is Gary5041

or item no. 300804755640

Cheers for that, will have a look.

Do I need the foam tray? I presume that you already had this?

The foam tray is a shaped holder that sits inside the spare wheel and holds all the other bits firmly in place, jack, brace, screwdriver etc. As of Tuesday last week he still had the lot available.

I had already grabbed one from another Ebayer so only purchased the spare wheel from Gary5041

I'm well chuffed that he's still got all the bits and a standard steel wheel. Now, does anyone know what size the standard steel wheel us and is it suitable for my FR as it has 17inch on atm.

If you can get a 17" steel wheel, then your existing tyre will obviously fit ok, but don't worry if you can only find say a 16". Using a higher profile tyre should enable a relatively similar rolling diameter to be achieved.

I have 16" alloys with 215/45 tyres, and bought a 15" steel wheel. With a 185/60 tyre, the rolling diameter is reasonably close.

Not sure if you could get a tyre for a 15" wheel which will match the total diameter of a 17" alloy, but I guess the profile of your tyres will be less than 45, perhaps 40?, so the total diameter may not be too dissimilar to that of a 16"

The key thing is to get a compatible wheel, ie 5 hole with the appropriate spacing. There are many posts about which will fit, Polo and some Audi ones are ok, but I ordered a new one from a local SEAT dealer, which was not overly expensive, and they checked the correct tyre size for me.
