Well I haven't been on here for a while so I thought I would update people on how things are going. I have fitted the head unit and it's works perfectly although when I connected up the parking brake cable the air bag light has come on, but apart from that, everything works fine. I have got a new roof design planned but that might not actually happen until the end of September. But most importantly I am going to be putting the Ibiza project on the back burner now as I am getting a nice BMW e36 as a toy (drift car) and I need to put money into that to get it how I want it.

Cars looking awesome mate congrats :D. What other mods have you got in mind to come, can't wait to see it progress even further :)

Thanks. Well I have bought another set of alloys. They are being refurbished as we speak and the paint will be ordered on payday. Then a few things on the car will be sprayed the same colour as the wheels. But then that will be the only change for the rest of the year as I have a BMW e36 that I'm prepping for drifting.

The smoked likes will be coming back but not using lamin-x as I didn't get on with it. I will probably be using flyeyes. Thanks. The look is slightly changing for next year

Small update:

Last Wednesday I ordered a set of Powerflex bushes to replace the front wishbone rear bush, from my local euro car parts. I was told they would take at least 7 working days until I can collect them. Then today I got a phone call to say they were ready to collect!! Brilliant! So after work I collected the bushes and now can't wait to fit them on Friday :). I think I might paint my wishbone to save it from corroding. What do people think?

Update with PICS, PICS and more PICS!!!

Well today I decided to fit my new powerflex front wishbone rear bushes, with the help of my dad :)

Well it started off with me having to drive the front wheels onto a piece of wood as I couldn't get the jack under the car :D. Then the wheel bolts loosened and car jacked up and both front wheels removed. Then I found two steel wheels to use as supports to stop the car falling and smashing to the floor, I would of used axle stands but they were all over my nans holding the BMW up lol. We did the passenger side one first with no problems but forgot to get pics. Went ok and got to use my new air ratchet which I love :D. Once the passenger side was done (mainly by my dad so I could see what needed to be done as I had never done anything like this before) I moved onto the drivers side and this is what I started with.

The bush to be replaced was this one.

Only 5 bolts holding the wishbone on, 1 holding the bush that needed replacing, 3 holing the wishbone on nearest the wheel

(Other fizzy drinks available :p)
Then the one holding the front of the wishbone one

I undone all the bolts with no trouble but then came across a problem getting the front bolt out.

As you can see the sump was in the way, so I called upon dads help and he decided to undone the subframe mounts to drop it slightly and then jack the sump/engine up slightly and finally with a bit of wiggling the bolt came out,

Off came the wishbone :)

The old bush

Getting the old one out with a trusty hammer and chisel thing lol

Finally the old bush was out,

Then cleaned the wishbone (did think about spraying it but could only find bright green/bright pink or black so decided not to bother lol.

All clean

Looks like new :)

Then was the fun part, putting the new powerflex bush in. Following the instructions obviously.

Using washing up liquid (who can guess the brand? :p)
uvugyjat.jpg

Then with me holding the wishbone still, mum standing on the bush and dad trying to get it to pop into place with a tyre lever

It finally gave in and popped into place

Then came out the copper grease (provided) and smeared on the inside of the bush and the outside of the metal insert before putting it together

Then time to put the wishbone back on the car.

All done

Passenger side

Think we used enough tools

Once everything was triple checked, the wheels went back on, tyre pressures corrected and tools packed away. I took the car for a quick spin. Well 30mins in the end lol.

You can see the bush through the wheels (but with the new ones that are going on next year, it will be more difficult to see)

.

Now I can drive the car and not worry about the annoying/worrying clunking coming from the passenger side :)

Let me know what you guys think :)

Update:

Well as it is now November I have been thinking about getting the winter wheels put on the car. ATM I have 4 sets of wheels for the car

- the green ones
- the ones for next year
- mk4 seat Ibiza sport wheels
- and the steelies the car came on.

Obviously I can't use the green ones or the ones for next year so they are out of the question. Most of you would probably think to put the Ibiza sports on. Well I would do that but my mate has em on his car so it would get through the MOT, the problem is, he then went and scrapped/sold his other sets of wheels so now can't replace them and give me mine back. So now I will have to use the steelies as winter wheels, but the same person has 2 of them :( so once I get them two back. I will be getting them two back this weekend hopefully so then comes to the next problem. Which winter tyres to get. Any suggestions??

Here is a list of the things to come before show season next year.

- new wheels finished and wrapped in new rubber :)
- mirror caps sprayed to match the wheels
- spray front and rear seat badges matt black
- possible a new roof wrap
- tinted headlights, rear lights and front fog lights using flyeyes
- possibly spray front splitter the same colour as the wheels/mirror caps

Let me know what ya think people

Should have just taken the 16mm nut off the engine mount and jacked the engine up out of the way.
