Hi all,

Does anyone on here have a smaller front plate than standard?

I know the bumper has a numberplate base which measures at 102mm x 320mm so need a plate to cover this.

I currently have this:

An awful square plate, i hate it so much!

Im after getting a new custom made size plate from www.fancyplates.com just wondering what size you all have?

Anyone have pictures of their plates?

I have 3/4 size (can't remember size in mm) normal style (not square)

It is slightly illegal so I won't show it here before blanking it out. Looks a lot better than the full size one

But because it only a bit smaller, plod don't notice.

I wanted 1/2 size really but that's asking for trouble IMO

You can fit whatever plate you like to your car, just got to screw or stick it on

Damon I'll send you a pic when I get my iPhone back in a week or so. But basically get 3/4 plates with no space.

To the unexamining eye they look normal. I'll send you before and after pics when I get my phone so you see the difference

I think you'll only get done if you get pulled by a copper in a bad mood and is dying to give someone a ticket and proceeds to check everything. However a K1 being a pretty slick looking car and not a corsa with a max power bodykit, I don't suspect it will happen :D

Only thing is is if your current standard plate it screwed in, if you get a square one you'll be able to see the screw holes from the standard plate!

I've got a standard UK license plate on my BTCC...
it looks ok from a distance but closer up it's a bit weird because it sticks out on the sides
Would be MUCH nicer if it bent along with the curve of the front bumper

Use sticky pads on it! I do and they work really well, available at halfords for £3 for two pads. Make sure you use thinnest ones though

It actually already has sticky pads on it on the sides that are unused. Can I just bend the plate you reckon? and...where will it stick to because it's nothing but grill :S

That's a good point actually... My bumper allows me to stick the very edges down so it follows the curvature of the bumper :)

well isn't that just great FOR YOU....

haha.. Now solve my problem!

Only thing I can think is put a screw in the top left corner or each side, feed it through the honeycomb grill, and screw it into a piece of wood or something so it's kept tight but the wood isn't visible, and then use sticky pads on the centre section to keep it in the middle!

hmm...that's not a bad idea.

Thanks mate i look forward to it :D

Yours looks really good, i know its a pain but any chance of measuring it in MM? Just as 2 or 3 different sites say 3/4 in different sizes :( Also, any chance you could send me a pic with plate not blanked so i can see how the digits look?

Anyone else have pics?
