I'm picking up the cat back next Wednesday. I'm also now booked in at Awsome GTI for the beginning of December for a service and Pipewrex DP to be fitted. I think I'm going to go de cat what are peoples thought on de cat v sports cat???
Breaks will be fitted some point late October, begining of November. I'm looking forward to moving the project on at last.

I'm thinking the same. Everything I've done so far has made the power delivery smoother and the EGT lower. If I throw a rod it's only going to cost £300-400 more for a AGU engine and then to rebuild it with rods ETC will be the same as to re build my current engine. it's still going to cost less than when my gear box shat itself last year.
Are you going down the Wellycooler route?

Yeah wellycooler defo. I did think bout forge but for the price I could do welly and stage 2 and I'm kinda on a budget but not skimping if that makes sense?

Planning on getting it at Xmas time (if I drop enough hints ;-) ) prob end up buying it myself though before

I've just decatted mine and sounds great! Awesome O2 spacer is a must to keep the light off which u will also need with a sports cat to be on the safe side.

If you have a friendly mot man then yes decat but if not go sports

My EML is on all the time right now. It'll be strange when its not. I did want to sort the suspension out first but my exhaust is falling to bits.
I now what you mean I don't like putting poor quality bits on my car and I was suspicious of fitting a Toyosports IC. However it's not badly made and I can't complain at the improvements it's made. The exhaust note is defiantly deeper so it must be helping to shift more air.

So I've just had a trip over to Sheffeild to pick this up from the SheffieldVAGbreakers.

They're on eBay and have a facebook page. I believe also they're on here somewhere? Looking forward to getting this fitted.
I had a drive over to Sheffield from work in rush hour traffic. Then a good blast on the back road on the way home. It's nice to have new Tyres and the understeer has gone again. Also the FMIC is very impressive. 3rd gear overtakes are savage in comparison to the SMICs. I can only imagine what fun you stage two guys have!
So I've decided on a new list:
1. Brakes.
2. 3"DP and de cat.
3. R- tech for a stage 2 map.
Oh and I'll throw the front ARB on at some point as well.

I had the Milltek cat back fitted today. In town and at idle it sounds not far from the standard exhaust. Under wot it sounds nice. My car has a voice at last!
The only thing is why oh why did Milltek fit them with that god awful tip? It looks smaller than the standard one!!!
I also had a chat with the MOT tester and the de cat won't be an issue next year. So I have to a think between de cat and sports cat?

Which Milltek did you get fitted? The letterbox more square shape one of the newer oval shape?

That wrapping normally means an expensive buy too
Shortshift? uprated actuator?

Catch tank from the forge factory seconds shop.

It said large on the description but it must be 2 ltr. Probably to big for me so I'm unsure if I'm going to use it or not. I'd deffinatlly have to relocate the battery if I'm going to use it. Also it's not baffled but I'm going to vent to atmosphere so it shouldn't make any difference. Only other draw back is it got -8 fittings which are 1/2" which I think is 16mm? The scratches which made it a seconds item are on the back as well so alls not lost.

Yeah it's the carppy square style unfortunately. After seeing the Blueflame tips at the weekend. I think I'm going to get it replaced with a bigger, better shaped tip at some point. It's nice and quiet but sounds good at the same time though. Which is what I'd hoped for.

After going to Blyton at the weekend and chatting to Tim, Barn and RDS. Also having a ride in Tim's car I've had a re think on my next few steps. I also have to stop the random buying and focus my spending!
Brakes are next on the list and over due. I've been thinking about what set up to go for but I've decided on grooved Godspeed discs front and back. DS2500 pads on the front and OEM pads on the back.
I've also just booked in with LVS for a full service, sump drop to check the pick up pipe and fit the front ARB. I was going to drop the sump my self but they may as well do it while they're doing the service. They are also going to check if the cat has died or it just needs a new Lambda sensor.
Then after Christmas sometime I've finally decided on Wietec Hicon GTs. I was pretty impressed with the ride in Ronin's car and the stance of all three that where there.
Then if the cats not dead, I'll get it custom mapped. If the cat is dead I'll have a DP fitted. Either way that'll do me power wise until while I get saving for rods, relentless manifold ETC.
I'm also going to start poly bushing a bit at a time.

Also I'm going to try and enjoy my car rather than obsessing about what's next to do on it....
