Problem with interior courtesy light

Hi

sorry to dig up this old thread but had the same issue with a faulty switch that on removal seams to have melted part of the light unit, it's only a tiny amount and I've managed to get it working again by adjusting the contacts but just looking for the part code for a replacement.

any ideas on the part code for a 06 FR altea and where can I source it in UK?

Interior Courtesy Light

Sorry, I don't have the part code. I fixed the problem by forking out for the whole light unit. I was worried that the central unit that controls the central locking, interior light etc might be at fault (the dealer calls this the door motor)

If it had been then I was going to argue they they had already fixed this, so I had to let them try to fix the problem. Cost £100 all in.

Anyway, that problem is now far behind me as I just bought a shiny, new, white Leon SuperCopa FR:D

Should have done that ages ago, it is a lot of fun!

cheers

I've just replaced (and now fixed) the front interior light in my Toledo mk3. I bought a second hand Polo light from EBAY £18 delivered and it is a straight swap bar a little plastic tab to pull off with pliers. Took the old one apart being curios and found a brass clip snapped off, floating about. Super glued that bad boy back in and now it works again.. I guess I should have looked at fixing it first!!! If your front light isn't working and the switch sounds like its vibrating (loose copper strip inside) Try the super glue fix before buying another light unit. It was an easy fix and I too had read about it being the central unit that had gone, costing big money etc, etc.
