No, even on motorways which is where that rule is questionable. Pretty crap at the time, but now I can laugh at R platers. Not that many stick to 45 anyway haha.

Think they are changing the rules soon though, doing away with the R plates and using N (new driver) plates instead with no 45mph restriction, but other rules such as no under 18's as passenger in your car for 1 year (unless they are family). Was on the news up here a few months ago.

Edit - Its under 24's actually  but only for 6 months. N plates stay up for 2 years.

But R platers are still allowed on a motorway even though they can only go 45? Is this just a Northern Irish law?

Yep they are allowed on a motorway, but restricted to 45mph lol. L(earner) plates aren't allowed on motorways at all, so have no experience of them until they go on for the 1st time when they pass their test. That's part of the new rules too, learners allowed to have lessons on a motorway.

Yes this is all just NI laws. The rest of the UK doesn't have restrictions for new drivers.

And you'll be selling your mods? ;)
Not sure tbh, think I'll try to sell it as it is...will be keeping the RH's though. If it doesn't sell, then I probably will sell a few bits separately. ;)

Im in the Same boat don't wanna get bogged down in small engined Ibiza... 1.4twincharge time.
Well I've had this for 2 years now...served me very well, couldn't have asked for a better first car! But it'll soon be time to upgrade to something with a lot more power! :D

Did you find it hard to change your sidelights? I tried to put in LEDs yesterday and failed miserably

Yea its quite hard to do, would be worse if I had a TDi engine though lol. You should be able to do it eventually, but you'll need patience and be prepared to get your hands scratched due to lack of room haha..

Well the week before Titanic Dubs I got the car through MOT, dents removed on rear quarter and front bumper sitting better on passenger side. Was meant to be getting the spoiler painted too, but the bodyshop couldn't get the glue off from when it was vinyl wrapped. :( Also got the wheels back on and lowered again after being MOT spec lol. So just a bit of a tidy up really. :)

Few pictures from the show...

Nothing else planned for the car now, just going to drive it until the new year and then I'll start looking for the next car! :)
