Sitting Pretty…
Hi, I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather?
Yesterday was spent detailing the whole car thoroughly, which was probably the first time I’ve managed to do the whole lot without interruption from the rain. Snow lanced, wash (door shuts included), clayed, DA’d with Megs Ultimate compound, waxed with Dodo Juice’s banana wax, polished with Megs Ultimate wax. The wheels/brake callipers and disc bells were washed, and then waxed as a top-up following a recent refurb and the tyres were treated to Megs Endurance high Gloss tyre Gel, as were all the black exterior plastics using a detailing brush. Finally the engine bay was wiped down and dressed using above products. The interior wasn’t touched, as it was done mid-week and hasn’t been driven since…
Once done, I set about perfecting the ride height. This was set up to compliment a stationary stance (fronts raised 20+mm with the Static+ Air Lift system when driving, depending on road surface). Using the circular centre piece of the alloy and the top of the arch, I measured all four corners. The rears and fronts were, as pairs, pretty even; rear=9.7 inches, fronts=9.2inches. I have lowered the rears to achieve 9.2 inches all round. The side skirt sits level to the ground now, and really makes the car look as I hoped it would do, having done all the mods to it in recent months.
Rather than taking photos outside the house (what I usually do) I went across to work and found an ‘arty’ location. The photos were taken using the camera’s settings, and they haven’t been touched up on the computer. They have come out so well, and I’m feeling pretty proud of my efforts. I tried to condense the number of photos down… I hope you like them?
I think it’s sitting well now. The ECS Rear Centering Plates have really come into their own, now that it has been lowered to its final ride height now. What are your thoughts?
