I had RNS in my Touareg and A4 and to be honest I wouldn't pay a penny for either of them.
I've always found them useless really and was still using TomTom instead.
If it's for looks you're after than fair enough but I would rather get a new map every 2 years for tomtom
instead of paying for one of these.

That's not a genuine seat unit isn't it?
I wouldn't buy cheap china made one because if something goes wrong you will bin it.
Either stick with genuine units or there are a lot of after market good quality navs like Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion, Kenwood where you will have no problem with repair in the worst case.

The old saying 'you get what you pay for' springs to mind.

I recently changed my stereo as was tempted by these chinese units that look OEM and also come packed with features. After searching and searching i decided not to ge one. One BIG reason for my, which may not bother you, was the return policies for them, and if it breaks, it goes to china for a repair, even if its a week old, and i wasn't happy with that idea.

I decided i didnt need sat nav due to having a tomtom, so went for a JVC KWAV60BT. The kenwood sat nav units are nice but youre looking at £550 plus for them.

Have a serious think about what you need rather than what you want. I wanted sat nav, but i'll use it twice a year if i'm lucky, so its a waste of money for me!

But make sure you google the models of these chinese ones, and check youtube for videos too!

The chinese one I did a review on it last year and had to sell it within a week at a loss. Some guys have got lucky with having a good one but personal opinion stick with proper brands

Right idea, wrong item ... for £299 that is not a genuine RNS system. You will be looking at about £450.00 and go for the VW version ... SEAT one does not get updated any more.

Totally disagree ... i changed my standard RCD310 system for a VW RNS510 system ... never let me down once ... been all over the UK, works to France and you get the option, if anyone wants it of Video in Motion to watch TV and DVD's.

Yeah that is not genuine for £299!!

I've got a Chinese variant and so far its been brilliant. I'm running Igo promo v2 sat nav which is just as good as Tom Tom in my opinion. Its got two SD slots, one for your maps and one for your media. IPod connection at the rear along with USB. Some even come with dab radio and rear parking cameras.

For the 200 quid that I paid, I'm well impressed and would buy another one.

The newer units have an updated GUI too. You can also modify certain versions and get 3g internet.

I took mine apart the other day to check if I could update to 3g and the components inside are Samsung.

I've actually got a Chinese model installed in my Leon and I love it. I got maybe the same or similar one to the one uploaded on here and it's got everything you could possibly need. Sat nav, ipod, sd slot and most importantly tv which is super useful when waiting for a friend or family. Sat nav wise it hasn't let me down, haven't needed to use my phones sat nav ever since. Also I agree to with some of the posts on here, there's only been a few times in the year that directions have been needed in which spending 750.00 to a 1,000 seems a little of a waste.

gotta agree with mr bubba and tsi, i have fitted lots of these chinese units and they are surprisingly good value for the money, i will be fitting the etos version when i collect my new cupra at the end of the month,
dont get me wrong guys there wll always be faulty units in electrical goods, after all our brilliant iphones are made in china, but are still very good :)

I agree I have one of Eto's units swell and it's awesome I took it in the dealer the other day and he could hardly tell the difference I've never had a problem with it, connected to my iPhone and works perfectly I don't see the point in spending 1000 on pretty much the same bit of kit? It's probably a bit better but there isn't much difference at all

Have a factory SAT NAV unit in my 08 Leon FR but no operator manual.
Has anybody a link for a manual? Had a look on the site but can see nothing
Thanks
