Hi all my alarm keeps going off due to the fact that my car computer keeps saying that my door is open when it is not. i've had a look for a button or a sensor for the door but cant find anything any one got any ideas on what this could be?. Many thanks Andy p.s some times it works fine then all of a sudden it wil say it is open and this could be at any time when your driving or parked. then out of the blue its working fine again???? also got intermittent airbag fault drivers side i've been told that this could be a loose conection under my seat? Thanks Again

Sounds like a faulty door sensor, or possibly your door needs adjusting as is only very slightly out of alignment

right got fault code read today

01135-interior monitoring sensors
004-No signal/communication-intermittent

the garage say it could be the door lock or the window motor and want to charge me for both also airbag fault

01217-side airbag ignitor driver side (N199)
001-upper limit exceeded-intermittent-mil on

all in all they want to charge me £900 to replace all 3 things?? Any help much appreciated.

Had the same on mine, just randomly going off. After a couple of trips to the dealer, as always was working fine on the first visit! It was found to be a faulty door sensor. Replaced under warranty and all fine since.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanna restart this post in case it has happened to anyone else recently.

My '56 plate leon tdi fr is doing the same thing. It started as intermittant but now is almost constant. The car thinks that the drivers door is ajar and will not lock except manually with the key.

My mechanic friend put it on his computer and no useful codes. We replaced the lock as thought the ajar sensor was in the lock but this didn't fix it. He is now thinking it's either the comfort sensor under the passenger seat or the door module itself, but these aren't cheap and I can't find second hand ones.
Before I fork out the £200 for a door module (and the many hours of labour to remove this ill-placed module!!!!) does anyone know if this is the correct fix or has anyone else suffered a similar problem.

Symptoms:
Dashboard light for 'door open' constantly on regardless of engine on, moving etc
Interior lights constantly on (so having to set to off)
Alarm will sound if engaged manually with the key
Was interittant but now the dashboard light rarely goes off
I have been putting up without locking the drivers door for about 7 months :)
It is only the drivers door, all other doors will lock using the interior button but as the drivers door is sensing it's open the remote key fob won't lock the doors, however the comfort close/comfort open still works all windows and mirriors.

Does anyone have any clues or is it a case of just fitting the new door module and seeing what happens. Also have any of you fitted a door module to this model Leon? We took it off to inspect it and we pretty much had to dismantle the entire door to get at it, very annoying! :) Unless we were going about it the wrong way we had to remove the window and window motor assembly and trying to refit it all needed about 6 hands with the thickness of a sheet of paper!

Any help greatly appreciated as always

Cheers,
Dave

Did any of you guys get to the bottom of this? Is it the door control module?

I too have a '56 plate Leon FR and exactly the same symptoms:

-Door showing ajar
-Interior lights coming on with open door
-Not all doors locking by fob
-Interior monitoring sensor fault code
-Alarm always going off!

Any help appreciated,

Thanks

Jamie

Hey I never got round to sorting It because the garage wanted to much money to look into to find out what's wrong the. Strange thing is the other week ii turned the child lock off and the central locking was working fine for about a week and then was on and off. For a couple days and has now stopped working again so I'm having to just lock the car with the key

So did you actually buy a new interior monitoring sensor and still have the same problem? Really need to get to the bottom of this.. my alarm is driving me insane!

Ye had the interior sensor replaced as thats what was showing up on the code machine but was still having the problems in the end the garage took the siren out for me so that it wouldn't make a sound when the alarm went off.
I've been putting up with having to lock the car using the button in the centre console and the key as its only me that goes out in it most of the time and I can't really afford to get the garage to look at it in time or money

Well at least I know not to go buying a new interior sensor then.. as I'm getting the same fault your garage found on VCDS :-/

Don't blame you for taking the siren out to be honest!

The only other thing I've heard it can be is the door control module.
Apparently these are around £200 a piece and should be replaced in pairs!

Might give Dave at Sere a bell and see what price he comes up with.. can't seem to find any on eBay.

Having the same issue with my fr going on a year now. Driver door lock was replaced but problem still not cured. Hooked up to diagnostics today at seat dealership but not reading any faults, they told me the next time it happens drive the car straight in and they'll hook it up there and then to see what it's reading. They had it parked up and locked for a couple of hours and the alarm didn't go off once, typical! They didn't charge me for dino because the car was already booked in for injectors through recall.

Well I've just ordered a driver side and a passenger side door control module off eBay.

Came to around £90 for both sides, which is a hell of a lot cheaper than £220 for one side from Seat.
(Both control modules are newer revisions than that of my current ones, but not as new as you would get from Seat brand new.)

I will fit these soon and will update if this solves the problem or not.

* UPDATE *

I have only fitted the passenger side door control module for now (as this was the door which kept showing as open) and the problem is finally gone!

No more:
- annoying alarm going off at stupid o'clock in the morning,
- passenger door not locking / showing as open,
- interior lighting randomly coming on,
- battery drain.

The only downside I have noticed though is that the passenger mirror no longer folds. I am not sure if this is because I have not yet fitted the corresponding p/n to the drivers side door, or more likely because there were less pins in the replacement module than the old broken one. But I will update again once I have fitted the drivers side.

Which part numbers did you take off and replace with?

I'd really like to take apart a broken module and have a look inside. I have a theory about what causes this, but can't be sure yet.

Did you update the soft coding of the door module when you replaced it?

I changed the module and the motor, just in case of any adverse affects by replacing one.
I think they may work in conjunction with each other anyway.

Original Window Motor = 1T0 959 702 G
Original Door Control Module = 1K0 959 792 M

Replacement Window Motor = 1T0 959 702 K
Replacement Door Control Module = 1K0 959 792 N

This was the replacement part on eBay.
