James iv got this if any good to you for going 4wd ;) Haldex maybe but unsure..

That is very interesting, but it has come at the wrong time really. I need to start saving a bit of cash now I have spent big wedge on this motor in the last 9 months and need to recoup and decide what to do next. 4wd is definitely on the cards but I'm also really tempted to make a mk2 1.8t big turbo. Let's see what happens in the next few months.

It's home!

I left at 9am yesterday to go and collect the car arrived just before 1pm. I had a few bits to do on the car before it was ready to leave. I had to fit the arb bracket to one side of the car as it was missing and knocking against the subframe. Changed the oil and oil filter. And a few other small bits.

Big thank you to Bill and Paul for they're hospitality and lending me a ramp and tools to do the few bits. There are a couple of small bits to do before it is 100% again. The speed sensor is broken and it sits VERY close to the waste gate so I am going to take out the sensor and solder on a cable extension to get it away from the waste gate before connecting it to the loom & my fuel gauge has a mind of its own due to the widget being out of sync but apart from these small bits my car is running great. A few pics

More pics to come when I have cleaned the car!!

I want to say a big thank you to the following people for making this happen.

Bill Brockbank @ Badger5 for his custom fabrication, engine mapping, and massive patience with the car.

JP @ JNL racing for the fantastic engine work!

Sammy @ INA for supplying parts.

Jez King @ TSA for lending me his engine crane

AmD for the gearbox work.

Tonbridge TPS for the constant supply of genuine VAG bits.

It's taken 6 & 1/2 months to do this starting with a car that was no more than stage 1 and it has been fairly smooth. I look forward to a dry day when I can open the taps on this car :)

Thanks to all the SCN members who have shown an interest in this build it has definitely worth it.

Fantastic news J@mes :funk: Must feel very satisfying to finally get it home. Looks like Bill has done an amazing job, although you'd expect nothing less from Bill.

It's been an epic built from start to finish, it really is a credit to you fella. It was great to see you get so hands on, you should be proud of your self. :D

How does she drive? Is there run in period you need to go through?

Thank you!

Afaik there is no run in period, the engine has been run in on the dyno and is no running on fully synthetic again.

Drive is...... Frisky. It drives very well when cruising, an drives very well when accelerating past 1/4 throttle. The throttle needs some getting used to. Wet weather you can't really rev past 3.5k as it wants to spin up the wheels.

But in general it drives very well for a car of its power.

Cant wait to hear your thoughts after you've given it full throttle in the dry. That first time you do it is going to be so awesome. :wtf: I'm sure it will live up to/surpass your expectations.

Good to see it back mate. Looks like a great end result!

Not much to do to get her 100% which I'm sure you'll get sorted in no time.

Enjoy!!!
