Depending on the amount of characters the plate has Halfords do legal 1/4 sized plates.

Yeah ... these legal size, a new style plate would have reduced the size of the letters.
Also the text is legal for this plate, but could get funny if they turn around and say that the car is new .... LOL!!

If I had a personalised numberplate with 5 or 6 characters only, i would certainly look at smalle plates.

The lettering would all be the correct size, but would choose a less wide plate, so it all looks proportional. So Mr plod and his fancy numberplate recognition camera, wont have any problems. :)

No??

The police have an issue if the font used is not the standard font, at the correct pitch, with the correct spacing, correct?

So as long as your personalised numberplate is written in the correct font / spacing - then surely there cant be anything wrong in getting a less wide plate, that fits just the lettering?

As per the pics above in Jarre's post above.

Ordered my new plates :)

Just went for a small one for the front (330x111mm) and a normal one for the rear (520x111mm) in the UK OLD LEGAL font

I'm looking for some plates where they just have the SEAT logo at the bottom, or www.SEAT.co.uk or something. Can we get hold of these? My local dealer has "Dealer Name SEAT Location" on theirs...
