My Connects2 is doing exactly the same thing. I think its the earth wire thats causing problems.
Going to go in this week and see if I can find a better way of attaching it.

Can anybody confirm if this lead will work with the Alana with the AUX button and MP3 compatibility ?

NOT the CD6 model. I understand i will not need to earth it with the AUX button model :help:

(i have the aux input but no AUX next to the handbrake)

Im dying to get this sorted i cant stand CD's anymore

Iv just spent the whole day trying to figure this one out... i bought the Aux cable from ebay and earthed it.. still nothing, the display just shows Changer flashing and then back to radio! im now thinking i may have a faulty cable... but i could be wrong. The cable i have only has 3 wires going into the blue ISO connector, red black and white.. should there be anymore wires going in aside the earth cable? my HU is the old Alana, so no MP3 or AUX button just CD6... does this make a difference? Help would be much appreciated. thanks.

That's what happens when Pin 14 isn't earthed properly, so I'd make sure you have Earthed the right pin, and that it's well Earthed.

And yeah, CD6 Alana works, it's what I have. :p

Some of these work.. some do not but just flash charger and back to radio. I suspect there might have to be a "handshake" communication to get it right so timing of applying earth is the issue. I certainly got mine to work once... and then never again. I am pretty competant (fitted cruise control by myself without too many guides) so it is not just a bad earth/cable issue.

some you win.. some you don't

Iv just had read of your RR Lambro... like what you have done so far btw :) ...the Aux cable you have looks completely different to mine. i think the ISO socket is the same but whats that white looping wire doing in there? mine doesnt have that.. wish i had pics to explain.

I think i mite have to... hopefully it will work! what pins in the ISO does it loop in to?

I don't know what number the pins are, but here's a close up:
