Cupra at TSR

I have an intercooler and uprated radiator being fitted. Will also be getting a Mocul oil cooler and will be heat wrapping the manifold and downpipe.

Then in the future it will be water meth injection and maybe an intercooler spray kit

I will be following you down this path cooling these engines at the moment is the way foward I have been looking at oil coolers but don't know what to get and what sandwich plate thing to get either I hate having a new engine to the tuning scene

What pistons, rods and rings have you been supplied with? id be quite keen on seeing the new spec and some prices on them.

I'm guessing by the lack of update it all didn't go to plan, or he may just be busy working to pay for the big bill.

Well, as you know the rebuild didn't go as smoothly as it could have, the forged pistons/rods went in and the engine was rebuilt but it still smoked - 2 turbo rebuilds later it was as bad as ever, so just before Plan B was initiated (don't ask!), TSR tried fitting a new turbo and BINGO, engine runs perfectly - no smoke. Hopefully pick up soon, can't wait. Looks like cracked turbo was cause of most of the problems I was having, but still went for new injectors/plugs/latest remap from Revo + some Forge bits. TSR have 1 other set of forged pistons in stock I think, so someone else can benefit from the experience TSR now have with this engine. Now I just have to sell the Fiat Panda I bought to keep me mobile.

What sort of smoke did you have? White, blue or black?

What's the going rate for pistons and rods and what are the weak points. Normally with VAG a simple rod upgrade is sufficient

Sounds like a good spec u have going there. Is the turbo upgraded or a rebuild K03? Bet you can't wait to get back on the track after all this time!

He has a green cotton cone filter inside. Seems to have worked well due to him getting a 13.4 1/4 mile. Think he still holds the record on here atm. Although hurdy with water meth and vrsy with a hybrid could mix things up a bit.

Driving round in a Fiat Panda made me feel like an old man, there is nothing like the sound of that twincharged engine firing up to put a smile on my face. As far as I know this is the only car with these pistons so far. TSR made a custom air intake with a return from the oil catch tank in s/steel, another first.

Are you planning to keep 220hp or go further?

His weighs considerably less than mine and hurdys, so id only expect to match him over the 1/4, maybe ever so slightly outperform him.

BUT, ill need to get R888s to match him otherwise his car with less weight and slick tyres will muller us off the line.

Idf imagine mine and hurdys will finish with a much higher terminal though
