Search came up with zero, so ill ask away. After much consideration on chopping in our leon for a subaru/octavia vrs we are fixing it and getting it back to a high standard. Whilst doing it im going to go stage 2 and add a milltek downpipe/sports cat to my cat back res exhaust. However im considering picking up a K04 from a cupra R and sending it away to make it a nice hybrid. Other than the turbo itself, does anything else need changing? Im guessing internals will be fine, but what about manifold and the current TIP? All advice will be welcome, original budget was 5k to get the subaru, so i have approx 4k to spend after bodywork is sorted. Must include wheels/suspension so is it actually possible in that budget?

Apologies for the essay, but thought id ask the experts.

Ive researched this, your better of with a K03 Hybrid, K04 internals in a K03s housing, a much more reliable turbo than the K04 and no need for a new manifold either.

I have a thread ive just started about the JBS04 K03 Hybrid to see who has it, bit pricy but ive heard a few good things from the Mk4 forums just curious to see if anyone on here has it, quoted to kick out 1.8 bar and give a reliable 250-300bhp depending on supporting mods.

you can get a ko3hybrid with ko4 internals on here from badger 5 . he does two hybrid types at the mo one that will do 260-270 and one that will do 300bhp. (Hybrid plus thread)
Iam thinking about a hybrid too but on my 180 AUQ i amy have to change to many things as i have a piper 2.5 downpipe needs a 3inch to get full benifit and my intercooler is quite small so theres about £460 for a large bore miltec maybe £200- 300 larger intercooler.
you will need bigger injectors 380s for the 260-270 version 550s for the 330bhp verson thats about £360 i think .
Plus rods about £350.00 if you want to push it without worrying.

and a new map for the turbo

Food for thought, im going to go for the milltek downpipe/sports cat and once AmD sort their intercoolers out ill get one of them too. That just leaves stage 2 map as i have everything else. Think ill hold fire and get the whole lot done at once and mapped to suit, gives me plenty of time for the necessary research and to get the paintwork sorted.
