I spent the day today taking apart a set of doorcards from an early Cupra (black leather / grey plastic) and a set of Cupra R doorcards (black cloth / black plastic) to make a set with black leather & black plastic so that they match my Leon's interior with the S3 leather seats. The plan is now to sort some half sensible speakers before fitting them in the car.

In the meantime, anyone want a set of doorcards with black cloth and grey plastic? :D

Winter wheels fitted. SEAT Sport OZ F-1s. They are 17s and only 7J width so the arches look a little empty, but this way I get to save my Leon Cup wheels for when the road conditions are a little less harsh. This picture reminds me that I really need to re-fit the front splitter.

If anyone has one or two more of these wheels in very good condition, I would be interested in having them off you. Currently I have three good wheels, and another four which are straight but very shabby.

The front end was looking a bit sorry for itself, so the Leon has been off to the body shop for a tidy-up. Got rid of the number plate bracket at the same time, and put a sticky plate on. It doesn't quite conform to the letter of the law, but I had a similar plate on my Evo for years without trouble so hopefully it will be OK.

Rear brake calipers were looking very faded, so I got hold of a used pair of replacements, gave them three coats of VHT red and three coats of lacquer, and added some SEAT decals. I didn't do a brilliant job with the paint, but they look much better than they did.

I think the time might be coming for me to sell this and move on. I love driving it, because I now have it exactly as I want it, but having run out of things to change it feels like time for a new project (as well as my Ibiza track project, obviously :D).

So many get like this. Think subconsciously this is the reason I have taken my time to do things slowly on mine.

Butttttttttttttttttttttttt more interesting, what sort of project would you be looking at next then? :)

Lovely looking R you have there, don't know how i haven't seen this before!

Those wheels really finish it off nicely great choice on those...Are they staying on the car for the sale? or selling them seperately ?

Thanks very much. Currently the plan is to sell the car as it is. Having spent nearly four years getting it exactly as I want it, the last thing I want to do is start undoing it all.

My Leon replacement is now on the driveway. I have bought myself an '07 Audi RS4 in Phantom Black, with just 36k on the clock. After several years of driving turboed cars, the V8 is just incredible :D
