No updates unfortunately, my parts still haven't arrived. Can't progress any further until they do, gearbox is booked into be built this week but might have to cancel as there is no sign of my bits.

I hate getting setbacks, I really wanted this to be finished in time for the AmD rolling road day in 4 weeks but it just doesn't look like it's going to happen for me.

Hopefully should have my parts by the end of the week getting the gearbox booked in for Monday to have the diff installed, hopefully get the gearbox back by lunchtime Monday which means I can spend the whole of monday afternoon & Evening trying to get the engine back into the car. Plans are as follows

1. Fit the SMF, Clutch & Pressure plate to the engine
2. Fit the gearbox with diff fitted to the engine
3. Offer up the engine and gearbox up to the car, install and torque down as per factory spec
4. Install the turbo onto the manifold & attach all the lines, auxillary stuff etc
5. Install all the water lines and oil lines from the block to the car
5. Fit an oil filter and fill with mineral oil
6. turn the engine over by hand to lubricate everything

I've still got to make an inlet pipe, haven't decided on S4 or RS4 MAF housing also need to modify the charge pipe to fit the new setup and then just got a few niggly bits to do.

Fingers crossed, next weekend it should be ready to go to have the downpipe made.

Good man, is it still in on monday for fitting?

Yer taking the box to have the diff fitted on Monday @ 8:30 then assembly of the engine and gearbox in the afternoon / evening and hopefully should have the engine back in the car by end of play Monday which means I can take it to get a down pipe made up and can start making the intake pipes etc.

Well spent this evening trying to assemble the flywheel clutch and pressure pate to the engine but ran into small problem.

The clearance of the flywheel doesn't clear the side of the sump.

Decided the the only way I was going to doctor it to fit was to file down the side of the sump by 2 or 3 mm, so removed the flywheel and set about some doctoring.

And sure enough

Clearance is not a problem now but going to have to get myself another set of flywheel bolts as I had torqued mine down in order to check the clearance, but torqued the old ones down and now the clearance is fine. Cost £12 of bolts, if this is the only problem I run into on my BT build I will consider myself very lucky :)
