Currently looking at Rota wheels, liking the look of 'Grid', 'Boost', 'Torque' and 'Slipstream' but I think the offset could be abit of a problem.

Wow dude, what's up with the exhaust? Why's it so far back?

Agreed! IMO it would look better an inch or so out from the bumper! - possible?

DC

I ended up having to get a new centre section aswell and the new pipes they fitted werent long enough.

I quite like how subtle it looks but I will probably get abit of pipe fitted to bring it out abit further.

Today I got home from work and had this waiting for me:
ParcelReceived.jpg

Opened it to find this in it:
PowerflexBushes.jpg

PFAxleBushes.jpg

A set of Powerflex Rear Beam bushes. These are getting fitted on Friday along with getting my braking system looked at as I have a brake fluid leak somewhere as the fluid seems to be disappearing rather quickly just now.

Hopefully the bushes will make a huge difference as the rear beam bushes on the car are the ones the car left the factory with and have never been changed

Car will be back in the next few hours with its new Powerflex rear axle bushes fitted and hopefully my 'small' brake issue fixed.

That homebrew looks fun....

But let me get this straight, they're charging you more for a carnuba wax, and making you mix and make it yourself?

Let us know what the bushes are like mate.. Was seriously thinking about it at one point..

That Homebrew kit looks class!! I want one :)

The bushes have made a difference etc, aint really driven the car over the weekend but turn in etc is much better. Dont know if they are actually harder etc because I could only compare them to 12/13 year old bushes. :ban:

Got them from Venom Motorsport, they had them on offer when I ordered them. Pm'd ;)

Probably when you say it like that, but it was fun actually making it etc. So going to use it on the car on its first clean after the winter :funk:

Not really updated this since I got my car back on Friday afternoon:

Found out what the cause of my brake fluid leak is, drivers side rear piston is knackered so it is p*****g out fluid everytime the brake pedal is pressed. Means I need a new piston and new brake shoes so that is getting fixed next week, more expense .

First impressions on the bushes are that they are slightly harder but front turn in is much better now. Cant really say much more as Im comparing them to nearly 13 year old bushes that just fell out the rear beam when the bolt etc was undone .

Also getting a new bonnet as mine is past fixable with rust plus the 'hook' part of it is knackered so it is an effort to get the bonnet shut, it is going to work out cheaper just getting a brand new bonnet and it painted etc than the current one repaired.

Driving home from work today my car hit abit of a milestone mileage-wise

140k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thanks:

Over the last few days I have been having a think etc and have came to the conclusion I doubt I will ever be able to afford a big engine'd car like an Ibiza Cupra/Leon Cupra R etc. With the job situation (10% pay cut), the mileage Im currently doing and the price of petrol (which will get more expensive no doubt) it wont just be viable, even if I moved closer to work as I would then have rent etc to pay.

So Ive decided Im going to stick to smaller engined cars from now on, much cheaper and affordable for me. Cheaper tax, insurance, better on fuel etc. Which means the Mk2 will probably be staying for a while longer  .

It hasnt been an easy decision to make and settle with but I am still rather happy with it :D.

Well it looks like my new backbox is going to be removed :(.

Got pulled over on the way home from work and issued with a Section 75/76 Fixed penalty notice for it being too loud . So the exhaust is coming off and a bogo standard one going on.

I was also put into the same stereo-typical 'bracket/group' as the young lads who fly about towns, disturbing folk with there exhaust/loud music and congregate in groups in car parks doing donuts and wheel spins etc just because my car is modified.

Im thinking of posting a pic/scan of the leaflet I got 'given' about why I was stopped etc.

Wonder if its now time to strip the Ibiza and get something standard/normal

Although one thing, they did miss my number plates ha ha!
