Smashed my sump last night... yes.. very sad.

Anyways.. The mechanic thats helped rebuild my car has said that you get low profile sumps, from the likes of Awesome GTI, ive been looking at them and im quite interested..

http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=27518&xSec=327

Is there Any drawbacks with having a smaller sump?

Also, i know this has been covered many times, but im looking of going hybrid, cars standard map, ready for stage 2, but im wanting a Ko3S before i map it, what kind of things am i going to need to do to get decent power out of it? im not speaking 240bhp, want a bit more than that! if its possible of getting it out of this turbo!

So theres a difference in Ko3S and hybrid Ko3S?

i thought they both had the ko4 internals?

No ko3s has ko3s internals, k03s hybrid has parts of different turbos and housings that's where the term hybrid comes from.

Different supporting mods are needed for both, the hybrid needing much more(rods are advised due to boost spikes) its been covered many many many times before.

rods aren't definitely needed to be honest, they "should" be okay to circa 300BHP, you will see around 260-280 on a hybrid depending on supporting mods.

At your risk be it. As we have seen a lot lately lots of people are bending rods when there running power that should be ok. Check badger 5 section. I wouldnt go over ko3s without rods now, these engines army New now

Power/torque same thing, he just didn't say if it was torque power or bhp.

But yes torque is the killer of rods.

I completely understand, i was looking into it to see somewhere near 280 (as that would be nice..)

The guys who are on here from america (IM engineering or whatever it is??) do the scat rods, would they keep the same compression as standard? as id rather do everything right, rather than risk it. and dont want to spend on changing the pistons either.

Yes the rods won't affect compression
