Ah cool, I thought the state of tune affected that - stand corrected :)

Nope it stays constant (as long as the correct units are used) because power is a function of torque.

HP = (torque x revs) / 5252

Dynos measure the torque at the wheels and then do the calc to work out the bhp. The drag measured on the coastdown (the torque acting back through the gearbox, tyres etc on the rollers) is also then calculated and added to give the flywheel power.

You can also back calculate the torque from a BHP-only plot or set of figures

Tq = (HP x 5252) / revs :)

Drive home felt good, car feels smoother and more responsive, boost comes in maybe 200rpms quicker and a little harder too. Actually seems quieter when cruising. Overall very happy with it. I just hope at the end of January when my MOT is due the people I have spoken to come through for me! :D

Good to hear you've got it sorted Rob - you're not the first person I've heard finding their decat has quietened the exhaust a bit :)

Yeah I was surprised. Went out again this afternoon so went down my favourite quiet country road and gave it full beans - wow, it's a bit mental now! I love it! :D:funk:

Got my license back endorsed with 3 points and paid the £60 fine ... have to be careful now. :cry:

On the way to Falkirk this morning I was passed by a black Ford Mondeo being chased by 2 police cars, the Mondeo was swerving all over the motorway trying to block the police cars ... all happening right in front of me!!! :-o

Oh well, your 3 points will be nothing compared to whatever happens to that driver!

Nice one, every day's a school day on SCN :)

Sorry for the off-topic Rob ;)

Could someone with a Mk1 Leon Cupra post up a pic of their carbon canister (EVAP) please as I need to see how the hose going from the canister to the intake manifold is set up. I am thinking of reinstating the canister to stop the persistent fault code I get all the time.

Sorry Rob no pics but the hose goes to the large outlet in the middle of the Mani, i had the same problem but since having the post cat sensor mapped out and using the 90 degree spacer i don't get it anymore.

Had the CAT removed this morning up at Stainless Creations in Falkirk. The inside of the CAT didn't look too bad but even when cold you could move the insides around, so when hot no wonder it was rattling. But a straight bit of 3" pipe is now fitted and the rattle is gone!

Rob if your struggling for an MOT I know a friendly place in Aberdeen.
The guy is a big fan of your car anyway so would help you out for sure.
Don't leave it too late as its easier for him to do these on Saturdays.

I had heard that the carbon canister is one of the few sensors that cannot be removed with a resistor, I take it you have found this to be true.

Without doing what Phillc says then yes, resistor alone doesn't stop it. I get a P0441 CEL every second day which is doing my nut in. I have bought a carbon canister control valve for £7.50, hopefully plugging this in will stop the CEL.

I've had the right-angled spacer on the post CAT sensor for many years, but there is nobody up here who would or could map the sensor out for me (I don't think anyway?), unless the guy Willie knows could?

Hey Rob, I don't know much about what needs done to map this out but mine was mapped out during the mapping process.
Not sure if its possible to do this alone.
I'm sure some of the mappers on here will know the process and be able to advise on this as its a well trodden path.
I was advised that I could remove the post CAT lamda from the exhaust and just metal tie wrap it to the outside of the exhaust.
This will allow it to pick up cleaner air than it would in the exhaust therefore 'possibly' keeping it happy with no CEL.
