Its good to see a back to back test done with the flow stack, I've been considering changing mine for a Jetex simply because they come so highly recommended.

The measurements for my heatshield are in my thread if you fancy having a go at a custom one.

looking good robbie, who welded the pipe for the water meth nozzle and wont this still cause meth/water to get into the throttle body?

I welded and tapped it myself. I am hoping it will greatly reduce ingress as the flow has a better chance to atomise and in addition to this adding solenoids before each nozzle, siphoning is reduced.

I will post some picks in a little while when I'm on a real computer.

Thanks RDS, I defo need to make a new heat shield, the BPI or my jetex don't fit into my current heat shield without adding a bend, which has proven to give inaccurate readings for me at least.

I have tested my velocity stack and got unexpected results compared to green filter(s), JR, and K&N on a test I did last week. Still pouring over the data..

Velocity airflow stack maf readings on screened maf were lower than the filters alone..
going to repeat the tests at different boost/airflows.. These were on lupo on actuator pressure on just 170-190g/s range

Well i was suprised at this, now granded i still have more logging to do but these runs where done back to back within minutes of one another, looks like the BPI stack is out flowing the Jetex down low betweem 3k-4k and matching its airflow up top, interesting as Jetex seem to be all people talk about these days.

I've been using a BPi stack with a Jetex filter for a couple of years, and although not been able to vagcom it, its good to see the difference in your graph (and hear that someone else is using one!) :D

You know youself Bill, different day different result that and vagcom is a piece of crap to log with IMO as alot can happen in a second or 1.3seconds sample rate it gives you, i have missed top end G/S readings before with it.

Why i am interested in the stack is because it is supposed to even out the air hitting the air mass meter, if this is the case a de-screened MAF should reading accurate figures.

Lucky my buddy had a tool for logging, i could get about 20 samples per second, so i will give this another go.

Here's a log i did tonight, nothing special, just a 3rd gear pull, but look at the sample rates once graphed :funk:

New logs are in, This is with the Jetex, i dont know what to think anymore, hit and miss really.

The new log is very large so i cannot post it, check the 2nd tab for graphs.

Looking good.

I should also mention all these sensors were logged together on 1 single run so it gives an accurate overview of all the major components, i just need to add IDC to the list.

Excellent logs Rob. What kit were you using to get 20 samples per second. APR explorer by any chance.

I was using a NefMoto logger, its a nice logger, not for the average user, and you also need a backup of your ECU to get it working, but boy is it worth it.
I just added the graphs manually in Excel.

Vagcom just doesn't compare.

Robert... you should know my tests are not basic.. :D :D 3 runs, take avg, repeat twice in reverse order on dyno whilst logging.. The airflows remained consistently lowest from stack/K&N combo... and before its asked I also repeated with no filter, and same airflows measured.
Not what I was expecting.

Will repeat tests on higher airflows/boost and see whats occuring.

Both, flow and filtration. The cotton gauze filters all performed well in the filtration test, better than the foam from Pipercross and ITG, the Jetex was the highest flowing cotton gauze filter, K&N was the worst.

Thats that then, Thanks Rob.

I guess its time to try a Jetex with a velocity stack.

Boy my clutch is slipping bad today even doing a WOT in 3rd, i think its fair to say at this stage, "its fcuked"
