struggling now, climate control in. just trying to get the headunit itself in and SECURE! I presume i do away with any brackets that come with the pioneer unit and using the screw that hold the pioneer brackets on screw the mk4 golf surround to the headunit inside?

iv put the rubber bung on the back of the stereo with slots into the ring on the back on the seat console holding it in the right place and seems to stop it moving further in or up and down./ I just need to work out how to mount the unit so it doesnt come OUT when driving.???

you will need longer screws/bolts. i think they are m5. you fit them true the dash and the mk4 golf surround

you will need a washer on the inside too. the nut at the very top is to tighten the bolt as the ones i got were slot heads and it was hard to work a screwdriver on them. this is a rough digram of the way i did it

red is the stereo, black = the mk4 golf adaptor, blue = the dash, green = washers, silver = nuts and purple = the bolt

This is my next big mod, ive got a spare centre console to butcher up. I'm gonna wait til the iPad 3 is released though before I make mine. I wanna integrate mine in the dash but make it removeable.
