Car looks great mate, real shame about the bonnet and dings though! :( I bet it's nearly impossible for you to find replacement parts in the right color on the scrapheaps, as this color seems VERY rare!

Got my Ibiza as a first car as well, and it's just as badly scratched as yours in some places(Except mine has pre-facelift bumpers, so no paint to crack after dings). I recognise the way you treat your car as I do with mine lol, everyone I know thinks I'm nuts spending so much time and money on the old girl, but they're really good and lovely cars in my opinion. Just don't fold it around a lamppost eh, like most 'first cars' get written off.

Again, I love your car, color looks great(one of the best colors on Ibiza's in my opnion). But it would look even better on coilies and rims.... White rims :p

Subscribed to your tread :)

Cheers mate - will get reading yours for some inspiration ey

the damage is a real shame but i intend to correct that. i think when next years insurance come through, the money i save will go on a repairing the dings and dints.

i know the colour is really quite rare, aint seen many in this colour. so no stupid respraying here! just tlc, and lots of it.

the machine polishing i gave it had a massive effect. compounded then finished it off with a finishing polish and that brought out a load of the swirls and light scratches. (clayed and spot of paint cleaner fluid first ofc) so im proud of its condition.

ironic that when a car is at its cleanest, that imperfections are at there worst!

oh and on the whole, drive like a idiot, kill myself and other people thing, i respect my freedom and wallet way to much to be an idiot. not denying i like a bit of a leg stretching some times, but not down the high street or 20 zones!

white wheels are a cert! i know the ones i want too

YES PLEASE!!

Good little motor for a first car, I had one as my second motor back in 2004. As for mods and insurance if you go for OEM parts off of cupra's and later models you will get away with them as long as they are not for any real performance. Couple of small mods that spring to mind are cupra alloys and a later sport or cupra interior along with some side skirts. Careful with HID's as the new MOT regs (when they come into force) will see them ripped out again if you have a picky tester. Could go for a set of cupra headlights as those are far superior and again won't be picked up on by average insurance people. Your bumpers are the same as MK2 cupra bumpers, the only difference is the fog light surrounds are colour coded and the splitter, you could easily change those on yours.

Not sure on the sub setup but each to their own on that, I'd have got a good set of components up front and a decent set of 6x9's for a little punch in the back shelf.

We did these little mods on my other halfs MK3 and when it got banged last year the insurers asked no questions.

The pins are part of the panel I'm sorry to tell you, you'd be looking as repraying the whole tail gate. I'd just rust treat them and cover them up for now.

or, if you are getting boot lid sprayed, then grind them flat, drill a hole in exactly the same place and then use a self tapper with abit of copper grease or some thing similar.

you can beat a good sub, adds whole new meaning to bass!

i thought i would get away with oem parts, that list is what i was thinking but till i have cash to burn its staying fairly standard - unless some one has some cupra alloys for sale?

oh and on the HID's, its all about who you know. i rekon a kind word with a friend to his friend would make sure my car got through its MOT no matter what it was like.

if you can get a de-cat through throwing out 5 ton of CO2 per inch, then some hids will be a doddle lol

will just rust eater them for time being

yea thats the most realistic approach, just bodge and pray for the best!

Who's that? Lol, the DVLA vehicle data co ratings shows my emissions as 0g, it's really just a prius with a big spoiler!
Yeah hids are no problem! ((wink))
