Cupholder instead of cardholder

my parts department couldnt quite match the part number listed, dont know if thats because they're just a bit simple (wouldnt suprise me) or because its incorrect so when i pick mine up on monday il post up a confirmed part number once iv'e checked it actually fits for anyone interested

a6 cup holder

i got an a6 cup holder off ebay 10er delivered, its a tiny bit wider than the standard one so gonna ave to do abit of trimming, im just about to have a go at fitting it now, hope it goes ok

A6 one fits good with a slight bit of trimming with the dremel, well happy always wanted a cup holder

Is it possible to take the front off and replace it with the old cardholder one so it goes with the dash better?

no the card tray front is not removable like the A6 cupholder is, although saying that you could cut it off and maybe glue it to the a6 cup holder but im not sure if it would work as the A6 cup holder is slighty wider than the card tray ?

Why has no-one noticed this before...? All i ever remember is Mk3 owners complaining about lack of cup holder and all along there was a solution I think I'm gonna do this
